He Proposed to Her Using a Video Call Set Up, and She Said Yes!

Joe had his wedding proposal all planned out at the start of 2019. He bought a ring, asked Martina’s parents for their blessing, and bought tickets to Japan for February 2020 where he originally planned to propose. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, their travel plans were halted and he had to think of a new way to pop the question.

It’s funny how unplanned things make moments even more memorable. Since Joe is living alone in his apartment, Martina’s mother offered to host him during the quarantine period. With the blessing of his parents, he took the offer which made it easier for him to craft up a new proposal plan.

"Martina is very close to her family. So with the lockdown in place, I thought of doing a surprise while she was on Zoom call with family. Martina’s sister, then had the clever idea of masking it as a ‘makeup tutorial session’, something she had done for her cousins at the start of the lockdown." Joe, Groom-to-Be

He Proposed to Her Using a Video Call Set Up, and She Said Yes!

"I created a Viber chat group with her sisters, and we added her cousins who would join the tutorial. Since coordinating while we spent a lot of time together was a challenge, I named the group PH COVID UPDATES, disguising it as COVID updates." Joe, Groom-to-Be

This Couple Held a Virtual Blessing After Two Failed Wedding Attempts!

During the unusually challenging time many soon-to-wed couples find themselves in, their stories of love and persistence shine through. Today, we’ll share with you the story of Marvin and Chari, who after two wedding postponements, decided to rely on technology to bind their love together through a virtual ceremony! While the online service can’t replace the formal Catholic wedding done inside the Church, it was very important for the couple to receive a spiritual blessing from their priest with their immediate family as witnesses. The bride, Chari, tells us the story.

"Our original Church wedding was scheduled on March 22, 2020. The first plan was a dreamy, romantic wedding in Antonio’s Tagaytay. But since Taal Volcano erupted, we immediately changed venues to San Agustin Church and Shangri-la Fort."

"Fast forward to two weeks before our wedding, we were tagged as PUIs. There are no words to describe the stress but no doubt health is of utmost importance. We decided to postpone the wedding. We were also overwhelmed with the possibility of being COVID-19 positive so we just decided to quarantine ourselves and wait. Through God’s grace, we are all safe and healthy."

A Garden Wedding to Celebrate a Love That Began Online

Zhawen made the first move of messaging Edgaras on an online dating app. They began talking to each other right away and, as she says, “the rest is history.” Their wedding was a rustic themed affair with blush and navy as the dominant color accents. Set at Miara Events Place in Tagaytay, the couple celebrated the beginning of their married life by exchanging heartfelt vows in front of all their loved ones, including their entourage dressed in pink and blue. Mara and Mike Photography captured what Zhawen describes as her Pinterest-perfect wedding, and we have to agree: it’s all pin-worthy indeed!
