Modern Details Make A Bold Statement in This Minimalist Morning Wedding

In Design, minimalism typically means an uncluttered space with clean lines and monochromatic décor. For this minimalist wedding, Ryan and Lalaine applied similar concepts—they chose a clean black and white motif and added personality by incorporating modern accents and distributing colored elements. Their chosen theme organically complemented the Church’s interiors as well as the reception venue’s overall architecture. This goes to show that choosing a venue that matches your theme (or choosing a theme that matches your venue) can go a long way in achieving your desired look and feel. They were also consistent with the same aesthetic when it came to the smaller details. You can check out the tasteful invitation suite, reception welcome sign, and tablescapes—they are exactly what contemporary wedding mood boards are of. A Light and Airy Intimate Wedding with Muted Classic Tones

Today’s wedding features a couple who chose to have only 50 guests even before the COVID-19 situation. A few years back when they were just a new couple, Groom Ice promised Bride Sweet that he’ll marry her at their favorite vacation spot–Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. And that’s exactly what they did! They lived the ethereal intimate wedding of their dreams.

The muted classic tones of this wedding, from the floral arrangements down to the table setting elements, perfectly complemented the vintage vibes of their venue. What we loved most about it is the light and airy feel of Ice and Sweet’s big day–there’s really something special about celebrating it with your nearest and dearest. Will You Choose This Chic Dusty Blue and Gray Motif for Your Intimate Wedding?

Adrian and Ava chose to represent their laidback city lifestyle through the muted colors of dusty blue and gray as well as simple geometric design patterns which you can see on details like their invitations. This color palette was consistent all throughout their event from the venue styling up to the entourage’s attire. Comfort and practicality were also their top priority and so Ava decided to have her bridesmaids wear separates which they can mix and match with their own everyday wardrobe after the wedding. Plus, here’s a clever bridal tip to stay chill: Ava added fragrant French lavender sprigs to her bouquet so she can catch a whiff of its relaxing scent! Another interesting fact about this wedding is that Adrian and Ava made sure to source their favors from local artisans and social enterprises as a way to help out the community. We really loved how this couple thoughtfully decided on the details of their wedding. I hope you will too! Enjoy these photos from The Backyard Studios.

Every Soon-to-Wed Can Relate to This Couple’s Struggle to Get Married

No matter how well Anton and Sofia planned their two weddings, everything suddenly were put on hold with uncertainty replacing all of their excitement. They went back and forth with options, tried this and that just to make it all come together even though they knew things won’t be how they imagined it to be. “Should we push through? How about my family in the province? Who will walk me down the aisle?” were some questions that they had to make peace with. Finally, when they decided as a couple that what was most important to them was the blessing of the Church, they threw all of their original plans out the window and went ahead to get married with less than 10 guests as witnesses. Anton and Sofia decided to walk down the aisle together, hand in hand, staying hopeful that this new chapter in their lives will bring them a new type of hope and joy.

Prepare your tissues as you watch the wedding film beautifully done by Jason Magbanua. To all soon-to-weds, there is hope. Draw inspiration from the story and photos of Anton and Sofia, shot by Chissai Bautista of Team Pat Dy!

"Anton and I had planned two ceremonies for Manila and Cebu. Both were supposed to happen on the same week last March 2020. About a week before the lockdown, we initially called off Cebu as it would be the bigger celebration. However, our Manila wedding had to get postponed as well because COVID-19 was spreading fast in Manila. It was a very stressful time especially that it all escalated close to our wedding dates when everything was already set." -Sofia, Bride
