Just when you think you’ve seen all the grey and white minimalist weddings, check out how they used cement as a material for their ring box, hollow blocks as a stage décor, and stainless steel as a cake topper! This Intimate Wedding in Negros Occidental is Full of Charming Personal Touches!

We all know that weddings now are different because of the pandemic, but even before the limitations were posed by the community quarantine, there were already many couples who chose to do intimate weddings.

For Santi and Alice, they chose to get married in a small chapel in Bacolod City and had their intimate reception in a cousin’s beautiful hacienda in Silay, Negros Occidental. Both of them wore stunning eco-friendly outfits designed by Joseph Aloysius Montelibano, an eco-designer that advocates sustainable fashion and uses local weaves and textiles. Groom Santi donned a local suit that’s handwoven hablon by a community in Iloilo while Bride Alice wore a customized gown with hand-embroidered leaf patterns by women in Taal. Their fashion statement isn’t the only eye-catching detail in this intimate wedding. Santi designed most of their wedding favors too–from invites down to the souvenirs–he even learned calligraphy to personally write their invitations. Isn’t that amazing?

For couples planning their intimate wedding soon, make sure you scroll carefully through these lovely shots by Verse Studio and take note on how you can celebrate your unique love story on your wedding day with charming personal touches!

This Couple Managed to Have a Simple Church Wedding and a D.I.Y Reception at Home!

Jay and Kris were scheduled to get married a few days after the first official announcement of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila. They tossed and turned while deciding if they should push through with their 200-guest wedding as they didn’t want to put anybody’s health and safety at risk. After consulting their coordinator, the couple accepted the fact that the current pandemic was a hindrance to their original plans. They decided to move their big celebration to 2021 but still push through with an intimate ceremony on their original date.

“We thought, all documentary requirements by the church were already complete anyway, it’d be such a waste if we didn’t push through. And besides, “4.19.20” was already engraved in our wedding rings!” -Kris, bride

They celebrated their special day with only a priest, a photographer, and two members of the family, who stood as their witnesses. In spite of the small number of people present, Jay and Kris were still able to have the wedding of their dreams! Check out the photos from Mayad Studios to see their simple, yet unforgettable day.

“I realized, Pwede naman palang ganito. It’s surprising how minimal the requirements really are to get married. Officiant, bride, groom, rings, two witnesses. That’s it.”  – Kris, bride
