“The theme for today is resilience and perseverance, and it shows by the simple fact that this wedding was able to push through.” These were the lines my husband opened his wedding vows with, and no truer words have been spoken. We all know it is no easy feat to plan a wedding, even more so amidst a pandemic, so when the big day finally arrived, we were just floored with gratitude that we made it this far! Plans and expectations were changed up to the last minute, but everything worked out in the end—we were married and surrounded by the love and support our closest family and friends.

From over 500 guests in a grand ballroom, to only a fraction in my new parents’ backyard, our wedding was made even more special because it was held at place where many of our fondest memories were made. Hosting weddings at home are sure to be a popular choice for sentimental and safety reasons, but there are also a few things that need to be considered during the planning.
