Love – A Universal Language

One thing I love about weddings is that it can transcend geography, culture and race. Just as children are born everyday all around the world, I believe weddings take place everyday in different countries as well. Bride and Breakfast is dedicated to gorgeous weddings in the Metro as well as the talented vendors produced in this country. Once in a while we get to travel abroad when these skilled artists take their talent to different territories other than our own. Mayad, a B&B fave, shares with us a unique wedding they shot in Pleasanton, California. They informed us that they were the only Filipino vendor for Sultana and Ace’s wedding—they earned every right to be there! What an awesome opportunity to make your countrymen (particularly wedding enthusiasts such as myself) proud. I must say Sultana’s vows was beautifully composed and would definitely make it to my top three list of most touching vows I’ve heard to date. Although different in terms of culture and tradition, this wedding still speaks volumes on beauty, commitment and love—a universal language.

Note: The location of the wedding is jaw-dropping!

What Dreams Are Made Of

Are you ready for some delicious eye candy? Well I don’t know about you, but my reaction to gorgeous weddings remain consistent. I usually whisper a soft “wow”, then stare at the photos contemplating what exactly I love about the wedding that caught me in a smittened trance in the first place. For a moment I smile and get that giddy feeling thinking of how amazing it will be to have other people share that experience with me. So come along, join me today (while I sip my iced coffee), and just sit back and take in all the details and richness of this stunningly beautiful formal affair of Vincent and Bernette.

Fave item for this wedding: Definitely the embellished mini cape Bernette put over her amazing gown. It’s elegant, light and extremely pretty! I can’t stop admiring it!

This photo is unbelievable. Drama and class from the hands of Nelwin Uy.

A spectacular and unique gallery welcomed the guests. I love how couples keep coming up with new designs for their galleries. I wonder if it will soon be flat screen TVs mounted in place of the framed photographs. That would be so modern, hip and so techy-trip!

So with that, I bid you adieu! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

Celebrity Wedding: Jojo and Ciara

I grew up loving Fridays, and I’m sure almost all of you did too! Let me just add another reason for you to love today. Some of you might have already seen this in a magazine or another site since it’s a celebrity wedding. But nonetheless, I still couldn’t resist putting it up because it is soooo intoxicatingly gorgeous! Having a clean vintage-retro feel, Jojo and Ciara’s wedding gave a balanced vibe of romance, youthfulness and charm. A palette of lilacs and purples vibrantly painted their celebration. The intimacy of the venue and guest list made the wedding so personal and meaningful. Here’s to a beautiful wedding with beautiful family and friends, and of course a stunningly beautiful bride and groom!

I adore Ciara’s stark white dress. It is elegant, timeless and tasteful.

This cake is too pretty to eat!

Bows, gloves and hats = charm and cuteness!

Wait a minute, if you think we’re done, you are deeply mistaken. I have saved another treat for you. I love love love (love love… just stressing it out!) the wedding video. Not only is this song one of my all time faves, I also can’t believe this is the first time I heard this version with the dramatic instrumentals. One of the prettiest videos I have ever seen indeed.

Out With the Old, In With the… Well Not Really!

For old souls out there this engagement shoot might just make your day. It is romantic, young and of course vintage! What makes this shoot really nice is that it doesn’t feel “too much”, if you know what I mean. Just a hint of details here and there plus a genius backdrop of greens make this shoot real but at the same time transports you to another time in history (without taking away the “cuteness” factor). Toto Villaruel, known for his fun and quirky take on photography, definitely did a great job! Oh yes, before we move along, I must also commend the couple Jimbo and Shayla for getting into the role so well. Beautiful Set.

Again, my personal motto is: “It’s all about the details!”

The Art of Love: Engagement Shoot and Wedding Trailer

Being a lover of weddings, I think I’ve recently seen my fair share of engagement shoots. Some were classic, some funky, some totally cheezzzzyy (not always in a bad way), but my point is, I see couples reinventing themselves and always pushing the borders of tradition and style. Today, I again realized why I love this industry. Simply because it is full of art in real life. It celebrates the most fundamental word in human history—love! It is beauty that can be captured by a collaboration of artists and visionaries. It can be anything and anyone, anytime and anywhere.

You know how we send our save-the-dates in various ways? In my case I just emailed my guests. Well, this couple decided to have a wedding trailer! A wedding trailer (I just had to say it again)! Just like those trailers we see in the theater right before watching a film, but this time, think WEDDING! It is brilliant, romantic, and poetic. If I were a guest, I’d definitely look forward to their big day.

A wonderful video done by Mayad in collaboration with scriptwriter Audrey Rose Dusaran.

As if a trailer wasn’t enough, the couple also decided to go with one of Manila’s most sought after wedding photographers, Pat Dy. Pat being known for his editorial style really captured the couples’ own love for fashion and the arts.

Another international work of our oh-so-talented Filipino wedding suppliers. In my opinion, I have rarely seen vendors as good as those we have in this country. So grooms and brides, don’t be afraid to dream with them, because this is a time to create beauty!

Andrew and Coral, you both were exceptionally brilliant in your performance. How I wish I had a wedding trailer too that came along with our Japan engagement photoshoot!!!
