For the Love of Art… and Attire!

Most wedding gowns have a wow factor, but few have the WOOOOWWW factor (if you know what I mean). My favorite for this one? The ruched top of the gown and the big statement bow in the back. The entourage dresses also fit the artistic personalities of our gorgeous couple Lindsey and Michelle. I’m not surprised that I am gushing over these ensembles, simply because they are Veejay Floresca creations.

Here are a few words from Veejay:

I “salute” brides whose vision is to be different without sacrificing unique style. Michelle is one of them. She’s the sister of Tricia who was my previous client. I made Tricia’s colorful debutante’s gown, and some cocktail dresses for their stunning mother. 😉 More than the excitement of doing another gown for their family, I was completely happy because I knew that it’s gonna be a collaboration between an artist and a fashion designer. True enough, we made it! We were both happy with the outcome!

Michelle’s wedding gown is made of different layers of electric pleated silk organza skirt, an architectural draped bodice, and a structured oversize bow adorned with crystal brooches. She matched her gown with a simple short veil.

For her lovely entourage, I designed dresses with random draping techniques cinched with pleated silk satin waistbands. One major detail I love the most was the digital prints on their dresses. These are precious paintings of the bride, she wanted each dress to be memorable. Her “vow” was the print on Tricia’s (Maid of Honor) dress. The feathered earrings are just perfect! Isn’t it cool?!

My advice to future brides: be open to new ideas. Open your eyes. Be creative and have fun! Weddings are special occasions to be remembered forever. All you need to do is hire experienced wedding suppliers that you are comfortable to work with, and they will transform your dream wedding to a reality. And don’t forget to simply have fun! 😉

I DO: A Save-The-Date Video

I thank all you B&B’ers for constantly supporting Bride and Breakfast. It warms my heart when I get submissions of all the pretty wedding material from couples or friends from the industry. Although I don’t get to publish each and every submission, I consider all of them beautiful.

Today I decided to post something that I think is both sincere and adorable. It’s a fresh take on doing a save-the-date video. Sometimes the simplest words can mean the whole world to someone. Here’s what the bride Jovy wrote me.

Hi Janna!

I simply cannot resist to make a submission. My husband is a very private person and he’ll hate me for doing this but I love it too much not to share. Besides, the wedding is done and a bunch of people have already seen it both online and on site at the wedding.

Anyway, please click the link to view the save the date vide for my wedding. I’m not sure if you’ll want to post this but this is not your usual Save the Date video. This is the work of my Maid of Honor, Clarissa De Los Reyes, a NY based film-maker with a Masters in Film from NYU under her belt.

The video running for barely 2 minutes is very simple, candid and real. After watching it a thousand times I still laugh and cry while watching it. The real star is my daughter Gabriela, 13 years old. Her dad and I finally tied the knot after being on and off for over 15 years.

Thanks again for all your help. Keep up the great work. I love, love, love, your blog!

Regally Romantic

Oliver and Aoui’s wedding is one glam affair. Now this is something that will wow our adventurous brides-to-be. I am TOTALLY in love with the avant-garde gorgeous gown. Fun, fab, and free-spirited, the feel of this wedding is regally romantic.

It’s a feel-good Monday!

Sail Away With Me

One of the most romantic things to do is to sail away into the sunset with your true love. It makes sense that Nico and Tippi decided to do a yacht setting engagement shoot. Shot by a B&B favorite, J Lucas Reyes, these photos are overwhelmingly fresh and fun. The styling was done by Sidney Yap and I have to say bravo! It’s one thing to style pretty ladies but it’s commendable to be able to tastefully style guys without being over the top. So here it is, sailing to us with oomph and pizzazz, our Thursday inspiration.

Pink and Priceless

It’s one thing to see a gorgeous wedding, but i think it’s double the joy to see a beautiful wedding of a friend. A few months back, Diane and I were chatting about her wedding. Although she planned to have it abroad, one thing I told her for certain is that she should get her photographer from the Philippines, since we have totally talented ones! That’s where Nelwin Uy came in. I love how he captured all the beautiful elements of Chris and Diane’s big day. From the cute bridesmaid TOMS to that simple yet stunning Amsale gown, I knew instantly that I had to post this lovely affair in B&B. Pink, pretty and priceless? Definitely.
