With a budget of P150,000 and with less than 30 days lead time, Joey and Ange pushed through a whirlwind of planning to make their civil wedding in Bicol extra special. Since they are both based in Manila, they were only able to set meetings with their local suppliers 20 days before their wedding. Nevertheless, everything turned out so beautifully and we’re sure all 40 of their guests enjoyed celebrating with them. For the overall look of their wedding, the couple asked their event stylist to incorporate native Bicol products such as karagumoy table mats, buri floor mats, anahaw leaves, and abaniko. We must also mention how the bride, Ange, looks so chic wearing an all-white pantsuit and capelet ensemble with a matching birdcage veil!

Another interesting part of their civil wedding day is their betrothal ceremony. While this isn’t common for modern couples nowadays, The Rite of Betrothal is a ceremony wherein the couple vows to get married on a specific date in the Catholic Church. In ancient times, the betrothal ceremony used to be a requirement for Church weddings, but now it’s only optional. Some couples choose to have this ceremony to add more spiritual meaning to their union.
