Weddings in 2022: A Look Back at This Year's Color Palettes

Green and White
Let’s start with green and white, which is now such a classic combination especially for weddings that are more minimalist or rustic. It’s a palette that exudes the beauty of simplicity. But you’re not limited to subtler decorations with this motif either. Greenery can be as lavish as you want it to be, so green and white can also give off a more opulent aesthetic. What we love about this motif is its freshness and pristine look no matter what kind of wedding theme you go for.

Orange and Yellow
We loved seeing so much vibrance among 2022 weddings. Orange and yellow definitely made quite an appearance this year. When used as accents, this motif surely does create a striking visual. If you want to make your table styling pop, use orange or yellow as your table runners or as decorative centerpieces. Add more color by using flowers in this combination as well. To make this motif more dominant, consider shades of orange or yellow for your entourage’s attire.

All-White
The most timeless motif of all — White. Beautiful on its own! The wonderful thing about white is how versatile it is. You can use this motif for both simpler and more minimalist styling and for grand arcs and installations. There are so many ways to incorporate white at your wedding — aisle decorations, candles and vases for your tables, and even your bridesmaids’ dresses. Having your entourage dressed in all-white creates such a sleek and sophisticated image, don’t you think?

Pink
Another favorite color motif is Pink. Sometimes paired with lighter blues and greens, pink will always be a classic choice as well. You can combine shades of pink with other colors, but just this hue alone is already so pretty. To make this color stand out, apply it on main details like your backdrop arc for the ceremony. You can also use pink as your sole accent color for your reception tables. And of course pink is also a great choice for your outfits, both bridal dress and groom’s suit!

Blue, White, and Pastels
Next to pink, we also noticed weddings using blue and white with touches of other pastel colors like lavender. We featured a wedding inspired by gin cocktails, the couple’s drink of choice. They utilized blue in such clever ways, one of which is on their invitation suite. Another wedding we wrote about used light blue for the entourage attire and as venue styling. The draping of the blue cloth has a whimsical feel and it certainly looks pretty, too, especially with dainty flowers all over!

Jewel Tones
Royal, jewel colors deserve more appreciation. These rich hues like violet and emerald are flattering on everyone! You can also use jewel tones for your invitations, bouquets, and so many more details. This kind of palette instantly stands out and is truly a feast for the eyes.

Neutrals
On the other hand, we also have neutrals! This kind of color palette will always be in style. When you want an elegant aesthetic, you can’t go wrong with neutrals. If you’re a fan of subtle and muted tones, you’ll definitely want to take a look at these weddings for inspiration. Neutrals were used for the bridal party’s dresses, as guest attire, and as dreamy styling!
