It was very important for Kel and Patty to have a warm and inviting celebration that centered both on their love for each other and their love for family. The goal was to make all the guests feel like they were just dining at home, so they thought of serving them with a feast that showcased their family’s specialty dishes. Since Kel is a cook by profession, he collaborated closely with the caterer–from the final menu to their wedding cake. Cheescakes sandwiched in between layers of cheese wheels definitely sounds like the dream wedding cake for cheese-lovers like this couple! As for the bride’s dress, Patty took her dad’s suggestion to wear her mom’s 35-year-old wedding gown, and we’re so glad that she did! With a few alterations, the final look was just so lovely! Complete with her mom’s veil, as well as the same cord, secondary veil, and arrahae that her parents used when they got married 35 years ago, all of these borrowed elements made their wedding ceremony even more meaningful and sentimental.
