Bridal Fashion That Are Here to Stay in 2022 and Beyond!

We’re almost at the middle of 2022 and the wedding scene has no shortage of bridal fashion that keep on surprising us! Brides are willing to show more of their personalities, put their own spin on what’s traditional, and make their wedding attire truly theirs. So, for the rest of this year, we expect to see more brides donning wedding attire such as eco-friendly pieces, versatile and re-wearable outfits, and the modernized Filipiniana. Some trends may come and go, but we think these are the styles that are here to stay for a while! Take a look!

Eco-Friendly Materials
More and more couples are becoming conscious about consuming less waste for their wedding, and purposefully paying respect to their surroundings. Just like Bride Timmy and Groom Synfor  who repurposed flour sacks and turned them into their wedding outfits. Flour sack fabric, also known as katsa, is woven out of thin cotton, and usually features colorful patterns! We’re bound to see other couples incorporating sustainability in their wedding with other details, apart from attire, such as plantable seed paper for invitations, and upcycling wedding decorations for the home!

The Modern Filipiniana
The classic elegance and rich history tied to the Filipiniana makes it a timeless choice for many brides. Designers are even reimagining the traditional terno and baro’t saya into the most remarkable dresses you can find in weddings today! There’s even more focus on unique details and flattering silhouettes. Just take a look at this train with 3D fabric flowers for added texture and volume, and the modern terno with embellishments and a serpentine cut!

Separates
The traditional wedding gown also gets a new twist with separates. Brides, nowadays, are also considering re-wearability and versatility when it comes to their wedding dresses. Who wouldn’t love a chance to wear their bridal outfit more than once? That’s why tops and skirts are also becoming popular. You can style them in different ways and wear repeatedly!

Short Dresses
Intimate weddings are here to stay for a while and so will short dresses! Whether tea-length, midi, or cocktail, these kinds of light, breezy, and pretty frocks are still going to be the go-to for brides who are planning more casual or semi-formal events.

Bridal Suits
We dedicated an article for bridal pantsuits alone, and for a good reason! Brides are definitely becoming more expressive and adventurous with their fashion. The pantsuit, in particular, found its way as a chic alternative to ball gowns, so we’re definitely expecting more brides to make this switch. Some of the stand out suits we’ve featured are a bold, red ensemble, and an all-white blazer and pants combo!

The Minimalist Gown
The clean, elegant style of a minimalist gown will always be irresistible for brides! What’s even more exciting is seeing a lot of different and more jazzed up versions of minimalism among brides. We’re looking forward to back details, high slits, short trains along with that sleek vibe we love from the minimalist aesthetic!
