With so much discussion on pushing through or postponing weddings, we might have forgotten that there is actually a third option for engaged couples—moving up the wedding to an earlier date! With everything going on in the world, some couples opt for this path because of changes in perspective and priorities. It might sound crazy at first, but after hearing Arvin and Brandy’s story, we are now believers! The couple first met at a volleyball championship game. Although they cheered for opposing teams, they couldn’t deny that they’ve found a perfect match in each other. They initially planned for a grand wedding on December this year, but the pandemic led them to deepen their faith and realize the true essence of marriage.
“It wasn’t the wedding we originally planned to have, but it was perfect and full of love. We had a very simple intimate wedding. No big celebration, no major program, no pre-nup, no coordinator, no florist, no stylist, just the simple purpose of getting married which is to celebrate our commitment, and to become one with my now husband. We planned this wedding more or less one month. That’s how badly we wanted to get married! We were also on a tight budget that’s why I had to find suppliers that were within our budget but had very good reviews, quality, and output. Gladly, all the suppliers exceeded our expectations and we had no problem on our wedding day.” – Brandy, bride
Brandy advises couples not to lose sight of their goal to be married and to continue praying and being hopeful. The plans may change, but your love is constant and will radiate on your special day. Scroll through the photos by Jaja Samaniego for more of this simply chic celebration.
