Today we’re giving you some quick and easy tips on having proposal-ready hands. And though most of us would not have a clue when that proposal is coming, or whether you already are engaged or married, it wouldn’t hurt to make these hand care tips part of your routine.

1. Wash with non-drying soap

Antibacterial soaps usually irritate and dry out our hands, and that’s the last thing that we want. So, unless you really need to use them, it might be better to work with mild soaps with natural ingredients like argan oil and aloe vera.

2. Moisturize at least twice a day

Washing our hands can dry them out, even after using the mildest ingredients–which is why it is important to moisturize every time you can. For hot and humid places like the Philippines, you can use water-based moisturizers if you don’t like the sticky feeling that may come with oil-based ones.

3. Use sunscreen

Our hands are frequently exposed to the harmful rays of the sun. And with summer coming right up, the danger of having sun-damaged skin is even more likely to happen. So, don’t forget to apply sunscreen or an SPF-infused moisturizer on your hands before going out for the day.

4. Invest in manicure services

Manicures provide that extra TLC that our hands need, so you might want to have it at least twice a month. Not to mention, well-painted nails look chic and classy in engagement photos too!

5. Exfoliate at least once a week

Exfoliating is a good way to get rid of dead skin cells that make our hands dry and rough. You can have it professionally done at the spa, or D.I.Y. a scrub at home using readily available ingredients like salt, honey, and sugar!

6. Eat well and hydrate

Eating healthy and drinking lots of water will naturally give your skin the glow that it needs. You know what they all say, what you eat is what you are.
