How Can You Tell If You’re in a Good Relationship?

A good and strong relationship is the ultimate foundation for any two people looking to get married. After all, this is the person who you’re going to spend and build the rest of your life with. If you’re looking to see whether or not all arrows point to a yes, then read on to find out some of the telltale signs that you’re definitely with the right person.

You can both be candid.

Whenever you feel like saying something, you should be able to do it without any hesitation. You have this comfort in knowing that whatever you say will be understood and will not be judged, because that’s just how much your partner knows you, and vice versa.

You fight in a mature manner.

Yup, fights really can’t be helped. And not all fights can be guaranteed to be “mature”. But when it comes to bigger, more important issues, you and your partner should be able to fairly see each other’s point, and come to a compromise if need be. Those disagreements shouldn’t harbor any lasting ill feelings towards each other, because you both know that you’re not fighting to win an argument, but rather to make the other person hear you out. There’s no blame game here!

There is a whole lot of trust.

It should go without saying that you should be able to trust your partner wholeheartedly and completely. (Think of it this way: It might be difficult to tackle bigger issues if you don’t!)

You maintain your individuality.

Being together doesn’t mean that you have to think totally the same or drastically change your ways to be able to cater to the other person. There will be adjustments and compromises, but your core should be intact. You can have your own space, do your own thing, hang out with your friends, and he can have and do all that as well–but at the end of the day, you know that it’s him and you.

Your families and friends are important to both of you.

It’s one thing for your partner to care about you and to make you happy, but it’s another thing to do the same for the people you care about. Your family and friends have shaped who you’ve become as a person, and being in a relationship won’t make them disappear from your life. If you have a man that can respect that and maybe even love them the way you do, then that’s great! (And hey, you should be able to do the same for him too!)

There is a gut feel.

As cliché as this sounds, you will know. Sure, there will be doubts from time to time, and you will get annoyed at some points for sure, but at the end of the day, all the pros put all those cons to shame. You just can’t picture anyone else by your side.

You can imagine a future together.

It’s also a great sign if you can picture yourself with your partner. This can cover anything from family and career, to financial goals. It’s a cue that you aren’t scared of taking that next step with him. Another manifestation of this is you actually discussing your future together.

The simple things bring you happiness.

You don’t need to have a grand date or to travel the world in order to feel like the luckiest person in the world. Maybe you’re simply making food together, or watching TV, or even just napping beside each other–and suddenly you get that warm, fuzzy feeling that makes you feel safe and content all over.

You've got each other's backs.

No matter what happens and at the end of the day, you and your partner make a solid team together. You’re always on his side and he’s always on yours as you consciously mold each other into better people. You’re confident in your partner’s presence and he is with yours as well.

So the bottom line is, you should feel happy with your man, and vice versa. So what do say, ladies? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
