Many couples wish to personalize their weddings by honoring our culture. There are several ways to do so and the DTI Wedding Fair became that exact avenue where couples discovered how love and culture can be woven together creatively, expertly, and thoughtfully.
The three day fair officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a program hosted by Isabelle Daza. It was an immersive experience right from the beginning. A stunning fashion show kicked off the event with elegant dresses, bags, and shoes gracing the runway. VIPs, friends from the wedding industry, and the media sat front row to witness the show.
A series of talks by local creatives added to the enriching experience through all the expert knowledge and practical tips that were shared — from visual storytelling, music curation, choosing local textiles, and up to even incorporating poetry in key elements of your special day. Finally, the grand finale was another spectacular fashion showcase highlighting the MSMEs who participated in the fair. As a special surprise, officials from the DTI also walked the runway for designer Frederick Berches!
What made the DTI Wedding Fair a remarkable event was the sense of community and empowerment for the local MSMEs. The DTI Wedding Fair wasn’t just about the details and decorations, it was also a platform to connect local enterprises with a thriving market in the wedding industry, and to expand their reach by tapping engaged couples as customers. Additionally, the DTI Wedding Fair contributed significantly to promoting Philippine creative industries in alignment with DTI’s Tatak Pinoy and Malikhaing Pinoy initiatives. The three day-fair successfully wrapped up with sales made by the local MSMEs and veteran wedding exhibitors amounting to a grand total of Php113,000,000.00.
DTI Secretary Maria Cristina Roque said it beautifully herself, “You are not just creating beautiful weddings. You are building stronger communities.”
