This Intimate DIY Wedding With 30 Guests is All Sorts of Charming, Elegant, and Fun

When Jay and Pauline decided to tie the knot, they knew exactly what they wanted: A small, intimate gathering that would feel just right for their introverted personalities. Celebrating 16 years of togetherness, the couple brought their love full circle with just 30 guests at a cozy restaurant reception, marking a refreshing departure from the lavish celebrations we often see.

Pauline’s stunning bouquet, a vibrant mix of fresh blooms and dried flowers, was a DIY masterpiece that perfectly complemented her minimalist gown. The couple even channeled their inner artists to craft their own wedding invitations, favors (a delicious bread dipping sauce!), and message cards – adding a personal touch to every detail.

Jay and Pauline’s wedding story reminds us that love doesn’t need a grand stage – sometimes, all it needs is the presence of loved ones, a touch of creativity, and a whole lot of heart. Get inspired by their beautiful day through these photos from Sunday Morning Studios.

Pull Quote: I was initially looking for a bouquet which had my favorite flowers (stargazers) but couldn't find any which were colorful enough to complement my minimalist gown, so I made one on my own. - Pauline, Bride

Pull Quote: We had our wedding ceremony officiated by a priest who was Jay's friend from high school, so he got to meet both of us when we were in college. This made the wedding ceremony very personal. - Pauline, Bride

Pull Quote: Since we didn't have a traditional reception, we didn't have a program, a first dance, cutting of the cake, or a toast. Our guests were immediately served an 8-course degustation and we were able to eat and mingle with them. - Pauline, Bride

Pull Quote: Despite the tight budget we had, we had tried to make the wedding as personal to us and as memorable as it was finally a celebration of our sweet sixteenth. - Pauline, Bride
