This Bride’s Beautiful Dress Has an Equally Beautiful Story Behind It!

Pat and Abby’s wedding was nothing short of a memorable affair. Set against a backdrop of twinkling fairy lights and cheerful laughter, the event perfectly captured the essence of the couple’s journey together–fun, unique, and heartwarmingly genuine.

Abby’s gown is a masterpiece that has a unique story in itself. She had her heart set on a particular ready-to-wear gown, but it was slightly beyond her budget. Unexpectedly, her ninang gifted Abby her own vintage piña wedding gown made by a designer who’d retired long ago. And much to their delight, the same designer graciously stepped forward to refurbish the cherished piece.

Once transformed, the dress beautifully combined Abby’s recent preferences with treasured memories. Crafted from Piña, Piña Calado, and Mikado fabrics, it featured a bejeweled nude waist sash that sparkled in the light. It was a seamless blend of ancestral tradition, contemporary elegance, and Abby’s own modern touch.

As Pat and Abby’s wedding unfolded, it was obvious that the air was thick with happiness. Take a peek into their joyful celebration through these photos by Oak St. Studios.

Pat and Abby

"After a few meetings, we decided on a final design that incorporated pieces of my Ninang’s wedding gown, with a cut and fabric I liked from my previous RTW fittings. It was a mix of Piña, Piña Calado, and Mikado fabric, with some beadwork as well. I let her take the wheel and I couldn’t be happier! It’s the most unique, most “me”, most beautiful and perfect gown for me." Abby, Bride

"I wasn’t emotional but I remember just being in awe of how beautiful and unique the dress was. I was speechless!" Abby, Bride
