Weddings become extra special when so much thought is put into every detail. Today’s couple, Zac and Mia, made sure that all elements in their special day represented who they are as a couple, especially the food that they served during their wedding weekend. Both vegetarians, they arranged veggie-friendly food for everyone to enjoy.

They decided not to hire a caterer to keep Mia’s 85-year-old grandmother safe, so her brother and mother stepped up and cooked all the dishes for the wedding themselves, from scratch! From 5AM to 7PM that day, they were mostly in the kitchen together.

The dishes that Mia’s family personally cooked are now staples when they have gatherings! The squash soup and veggie lasagna were such a hit that they’ll serve them again on their parents’ 40th anniversary celebration.
