This Bride Had a Haircut in between the Wedding Ceremony and Reception

A wise lesson that we can learn from today’s bride, Karen, is that staying true to yourself will make your wedding extra memorable. You can break a few traditions, wear a ball gown to an “intimate wedding,” and so much more. For Karen, a must was cutting her hair in a short bob on the day of her wedding! She wanted to have her long hair down just for the ceremony, so she opted to grow it out, and then chop it off right before their family luncheon. Her hairstylist was hesitant at first, but then quickly agreed because a shorter haircut is what makes this bride feel at her most beautiful!

Apart from getting a new haircut, Karen also designed all her bridal looks and even her entourage dresses. She even co-styled her groom’s attire. Although she didn’t actually have a “dream dress” planned out in her mind, she always had this vision of marrying a man in a white suit. Jeremy was happy to oblige! Karen, herself, will tell you about all the rest of the details. So, go on and enjoy scrolling through these photos from Mayad.

"One of the most important parts of the wedding day for me is to feel like myself. I'm almost always in a short bob unless I want to switch it up to my long hair phase. These are my two go-to looks, so it made more sense to have them both on the day." Karen, Bride

"I didn't know what my wedding dress would look like. I just knew I wanted it to be out of the ordinary. I wanted mine to be clean, sleek, and minimalist. I also wanted my dress to be form fitting and ankle length to highlight my shoes." Karen, Bride

"I wanted the dresses to have different fabrics, shades, styles, silhouettes, prints, and textures. I chose pink as the main color. The fabrics I chose have this element of transparency in them and the design elements have voluminosity." Karen, Bride

"I think it's important to do whatever you want, even if it's unusual, as long as it's YOU and will make you and your partner happy. When you look back at the photos, those are the things that you'd want to see and remember." Karen, Bride

"I specifically asked my hair and makeup team to accommodate my unusual request. They were hesitant about it because they've never encountered such a request, so they asked if I can cut my hair before the wedding day and just use extensions for the ceremony. But I wanted everything to be real and authentic. They then agreed and we're all so pleased with how it came out!" Karen, Bride

"For the second look, of all the dresses, this was the no-brainer one. It's my classic, go-to, corset + legs + back detail look, and it wouldn't be complete if I didn't chop off my hair." Karen, Bride
