This Bride Chose to Get Ready with Her Groom and Personally Arrange Her Bouquet and Tablescapes!

Today’s featured couple postponed their wedding to later this year, however, “towards the end of 2020, the pandemic was nowhere close to ending and we didn’t want to wait any longer,” says Kim, Bride. After dating for 7 years and spending another year engaged during a pandemic, Miguel and Kim knew they wanted to start the year right as husband and wife. They carefully planned an intimate celebration with only their immediate families, even limiting suppliers to one photographer and having the talented bride herself source and arrange the bridal bouquet and reception tablescapes.

The happy couple was also not afraid to break a few traditions—opting to get ready together before the wedding and walk down the Church aisle hand in hand. Fall in love with all the thoughtful details as you scroll through the photos by Jay Jay Lucas of Chestknots Studios. If this one-of-a-kind wedding was any indication, we are so looking forward to all the new trends and traditions for weddings this year!

"Towards the end of 2020, the pandemic was nowhere close to ending and Miguel and I didn’t want to wait any longer. Despite everything, we felt getting married on January would start the year right."

"For the bridal bouquet, I was very particular with the style, from the length of the roses, kinds of flowers, and the design of the ribbon. I wanted a simple and modern look and luckily the supplier was able to deliver and execute what I had in mind. For the tablescape, I put together a look that consists of neutral colors and textures. Major tip I can give to upcoming brides—less is more. There’s definitely beauty in simplicity."

"Having our families, the people who matter most, witness our wedding day even made it more special."

"We will probably go back to planning when things are better, but right now we are just grateful to be together and happily married."
