With only one week left to go before JR and Maric’s destination wedding in Batanes, the lockdown was announced, and the dream wedding they planned wasn’t going to become a reality anymore. “We grieved and found ourselves restless. We never expected that the entire event will be cancelled with no clear date to revert to anytime soon,” says Maric. “But marriage is what matters most, so we decided to have an intimate wedding. On a clear day in July we visited a family friend at the city hall, and inquired about wedding dates. The earliest possible date available was in three days! Some of our documents have expired, we didn’t know if we were having a reception, we didn’t know if our family, friends, and suppliers were available, but we pushed our luck anyway.”

Within three days, JR and Maric were able to submit new documents, find a venue that exuded the same feel as their venue in Batanes, re-book their original photographer and videographer, and secured a florist and makeup artist even at the last minute! JR and Maric celebrated their special day surrounded by love and their family and friends clearly saw how they were radiating with happiness through their photos. This couple proves that what is meant to be will surely fall into place and even though this wasn’t the destination wedding they planned, they were able to fulfill their true dream of becoming husband and wife.
