We can’t help but swoon over the dreamy details of Chesca’s wedding gown! She describes it as simple yet sophisticated, and in our opinion, her gown really highlights her natural beauty so well. The accordion pleats on the bodice and rose drapings over the train are the simple details which make the gown stunning. This bride shows us that you can achieve a very sophisticated style even without beading or lace! Chesca’s gown also complemented the entire look and feel of her wedding which had an elegant rustic theme. The combination of wood and plants as decorations, the touches of gold, and the nude, brown, and black palette for the bridesmaids were altogether so pleasing to the eyes. And for more of that rustic charm, festoon lights were cleverly placed to make the event seem as if it were outdoors. Scroll through these shots by Meg and Jane.
What’s the story behind your wedding gown?
“It was in one of the wedding videos made by Meg and Jane where we had a first glance at the gown and it was worn by a bride named Mau. My husband who was awed by the gown told me these exact words: “Beb, ang ganda ng gown, bagay sayo ‘yan kasi simple lang, walang lace, mangingibabaw ‘yung ganda mo.” I was, of course, reluctant as I already had a picture of what my wedding gown will look like. But then one day, I suddenly wondered how my husband would react if he sees me walk down the aisle wearing the gown he wanted for me. So, I decided to go for it. When I met with Mr. Jo Rubio, I remembered how extremely excited he was when I told him that the gown was meant to surprise my husband. He did a little modification though. He added accordion pleats in front which made it more elegant and highlighted my so-called ‘curves.’ It was during my first fitting when I realized, ‘This is my dream wedding gown.’ I will never regret choosing this.”
What were some of the requirements that your gown needed to have?
“It must be the same as the one we saw from the video with a little modification. I emphasized to Mr. Jo that: 1.) My husband has to recognize it. 2.) It should have an ample amount of rose drapings and 3.) the longer the train the better.”
What details of your gown stand out the most?
“I like how it has details from the waist up and perfectly filled with rose drapings from below the knees until the end of the train.”
