Danny and Daphne follow a minimalist lifestyle, keeping only what has value to them. They made sure to apply this same minimalist principle to their big day by inviting only their closest friends, family, and the people who were actual witnesses to their love story. As even their possessions come only in black, white, and gray, the couple opted for white as the dominant motif of their event. The white color scheme definitely highlighted the lush greens of Hillcreek Gardens even more. Decorations were kept minimal and simple, of course, with just greenery as accents for the ceremony area and as runners for the table setup provided by Richgold Weddings. Daphne made sure her wedding dress had the clean and structured aesthetic she envisioned, while Danny, the entourage, and their guests also stayed true to the all-white palette. Why did you choose to have an all-white theme?
“We, as a couple, have been applying minimalism in our lives— from intentionally bringing things only if they would add value to our lives, even down to our bedroom theme and wardrobe choices. The things that we own are mostly in just three colors, which are black, grey, and white. Naturally, we went for white as our main wedding color because it just makes sense. It is an immaculate and bright color, and it made the lush greens of the garden pop.”
How does your wedding theme reflect you as a couple?
“We are laidback as a couple, and it just makes total sense for our wedding theme to reflect that. We love the idea of being each other’s home, so we wanted that nurturing feeling to be felt throughout the day. This made us decide to have an intimate wedding with people who watched our love story unfold.”
How did you come up with your motif?
“I have always loved nature, so a garden wedding was non-negotiable. The foliage in a garden is just refreshing and pleasing to the senses. A subtle theme that I tried to incorporate in the planning is Greek mythology. My namesake, Daphne, was a woodland nymph. I tried to make this theme flow through my dress choice. I knew from the very start that I did not want a typical wedding dress! I also tried to the best that I could to have a clean and structured theme that reminds me of the Greek.”
How did you manage your guest list for your intimate wedding?
“We made sure to invite only our dearest family and friends. Another criterion that we had is if the invitee has personally witnessed our relationship as a couple. That made it easier.”
