7 Wedding Trends We Want to See This 2019!

Here we are again. Another year has passed and another year of planning and getting married awaits. As the founder and editor-in-chief of Bride and Breakfast, I look forward to the trend predictions we have at the beginning of the year. If you recently got engaged over the holidays, or if you are already in the process of planning one from last year, then this might be of service to you. Trends come and go. Some stay longer while others don’t. But here are a few things I am very much looking forward to this year.

Founder of Bride and Breakfast Shares Exciting Wedding Trends That Await Couples This 2019

Festive and Vibrant Weddings

I’m expecting some brides to be more adventurous this year. While pastel will always be a staple, there is a rising number of weddings that go for festive themes and vibrant colors. The bright colors exude youth, playfulness, and boldness, which is always a good idea.

Destination Everything

We’re definitely going to see more groups traveling together before the big day! With airline tickets so accessible and Instagram-worthy accommodations in places like Bali or even local beach resorts, more bride tribes and groom gangs will be packing their bags and creating epic memories. A lot of couples will also be more open to having their wedding abroad. Some for the reason of making it intimate, some to make it an all-in-one pre-wedding/wedding/honeymoon trip, and others, to have a location that is not typically used and seen by Filipinos.

Sexy cuts, materials, and silhouettes

Since fitness has been such a big thing the last couple of years, more and more brides have been opting for figure flattering silhouettes. See through fabric, slits, and back bearing styles are becoming fast favorites. I am pretty sure we will be seeing more of these this 2019. I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw bridal gowns inspired by daring runway collections or even the recent gowns Catriona Gray wore in Miss Universe–imagine that in white!

Eye catching Accessories

Tiaras, statement earrings, embellished veils, and all sorts of eye-catching accessories will be big for 2019. While some brides opt for simple and dainty accents, I can imagine a lot of them also willing to try the big and “blingy” pieces. Every detail counts of course.

Extremes in Style

We will be seeing both understated and overstated styles. While one side of the spectrum is leaning towards simplicity and minimalism, another side of the spectrum will be for “more is more” as inspired by movies like Crazy Rich Asians back in 2018.

Bringing the Outdoors, Indoors

Anything is possible for 2019, one of which is being able to create anything indoors. Want to get married in a jungle? Your event stylist can make that happen in a ballroom. Installations and set designs are really at its peak and stylists continue to amaze couples with what they can do. The best part about it is that you will never have to worry about rain.

Unconventional Ceremonies and Receptions

Getting married in your own backyard? Food stalls for your reception? Or even holding everything in a restaurant? The possibilities are so exciting and endless. Couples are certainly gaining confidence to make their wedding truly their own. Innovation and bending the rules are given a pat on the back. There’s no one way of doing a wedding. And you are allowed to make it as special and memorable in whatever way you like.

I’m pretty sure I will still see a lot of trends emerge as the months go by. But for now, here’s what you can take note of for your wedding planning! Enjoy 2019, and we hope you have a great time journeying with us.
