TikTok sensation and beauty guru Marj Maroket recently tied the knot with Brendan Winter in what can only be described as a fabulously fun wedding at Amorita Resort, Panglao.
Always one to dazzle her followers with her style and spark, Marj made sure that her big day was splashed with her signature charm and a whole lot of thoughtfulness for their guests.
It was less of a formal affair and more of a grand celebration of love, complete with all the personal touches that only Marj could dream up, and every moment was truly picture-perfect and uniquely theirs.
We spoke with Marj about all the details of her wedding—from the planning to the personal touches—and trust us, you’ll want to see how it all came to life in these stunning photos by Jaja Samaniego!
“Bohol doesn’t really hold a special meaning for me and Brendan, but we knew we wanted to do a destination wedding that was easily accessible for everyone, especially for Brendan’s parents who would be flying in from the U.S.,” Marj explains. “What we loved about Bohol was, once you land at the airport, it’s just five minutes away from Amorita.”
But it wasn’t just about convenience. The venue itself captivated them with its stunning cliff top views overlooking the sea, complete with picturesque boats and Alona Beach in the distance.
“We really, really fell in love with Amorita, as well. When we decided to do a destination wedding, we wanted our ceremony venue to have a really nice view, and we loved that Amorita was on a cliff overlooking the sea, with the boats and Alona Beach.”
From the outset, Marj knew what she wanted: a dress that was stylish yet straightforward (no lace, no beads, and nothing overly long), leading her to fall for an Oscar de la Renta creation.
“I really fell in love with Oscar de la Renta’s design, specifically the fern embroidered dress from his 2019 fall collection,” Marj enthusiastically explained. And true to her go-getter nature, once she set her heart on it, there was no stopping her from tracking it down.
Securing Marj’s wedding dress turned out to be quite the adventure, involving a bit of international coordination with her in-laws. The gown required a special pickup and delivery arrangement. Marj’s in-laws collected the dress without her trying it on—a leap of faith for such an important outfit!
She also chose to adorn her hair with fresh flowers, which was a charming touch that brought a more natural, earthy element to her style.
For the welcome party, Marj turned heads in a Vania Romoff creation that exuded classic beach elegance and timeless style.
“I love a fun pattern, I love texture. So, with my Vania Romoff welcome party dress, you were able to see the texture from the flowers on a sheer fabric, which I also like, perfect for the beach.”
The dress also included a high slit on one side which gave off a sultry contrast that balanced the overall delicate and dreamy look.
For the reception, Marj chose a dress by Banggo Niu, adorned with a scalloped beaded pattern that initially challenged her tastes but eventually won her over. “I really didn’t want to do a beaded dress, but Banggo was able to convince me when he showed me that fun scalloped beaded pattern,” she explained.
The after-party was a blast, thanks to her Julianne Syjuco dress, which was all about fun with its flirty fringe details–perfect for dancing the night away!
As a beauty influencer, Marj’s wedding day makeup was as spotlight-stealing as you’d expect! She chose the talented Jelly Eugenio, a trusted friend and renowned makeup artist, to give her a look that dazzled yet felt distinctly Marj.
She recounts telling him, “I don’t want to look natural. Why would I go for you if I just want to do natural? That’s something I can do myself. I want you to make me the most beautiful. I want to be glam, but again, still recognizable.”
Jelly delivered exactly that, with a stunning palette that included bronzy, glowy skin and bold, bushy brows, all crowned by the ‘golden sunset’ eyes that truly made her eyes pop.
She loved how Jelly managed to keep her looking glamorous yet unmistakably herself, which was exactly what she wanted.
Their wedding was nothing short of a magical bash that perfectly matched the laid-back yet festive personalities of both Marj and Brendan. The styling was all about vibrant colors and timeless tropical elegance, masterfully brought to life by their genius event stylist, Randy Lazaro. “We told him we wanted the wedding to be vibrant and colorful but again still timeless and elegant and he was able to execute that beautifully,” Marj gushed.
The ceremony unfolded in a lush setting, surrounded by vivid flowers and natural greenery. They walked down a winding aisle that beautifully makes its way through a mix of bright floral arrangements.
Ditching the usual wedding script, Marj and Brendan skipped traditional bits like the bouquet and garter toss, in favor of elements that really spoke to their story, with personal anecdotes and speeches from those closest to them.
One of the night’s highlights? A surprise ‘Growing Up’ video produced by their parents. And not to be outdone, Marj’s parents hit the dance floor with a surprise number that stole the show! It was all cheers, tears, and laughter—truly a family affair that the couple would always fondly look back on.
As a tip for other brides, Marj stresses the need to delegate and not sweat the small stuff. Sometimes, it’s best to let go of the tiny details and focus on the big picture to keep the wedding planning process enjoyable, rather than stressful.
“For us, we really wanted a destination wedding, and all of our dream suppliers are also from Manila, so we knew coming in that it was going to be costly. But it was definitely so, so worth it for the both of us,” she adds.
Marj also stresses the importance of being fully present during the wedding to truly enjoy every moment. “They say that weddings fly by so quickly, and I could not agree more. So, I guess one of the really good pieces of advice is to also be present,” she reflected.
“I was so glad I was present for everything—from the welcome party on the first day until the after party, which ended at like 6 a.m. I was fully, fully present.”
And as Marj and Brendan’s wedding drew to a close, it became clear that the true splendor of their day lay in the warmth and joy that filled every moment. It’s a nice reminder that the heart of a wedding isn’t really in the spectacle, but in the personal touches and shared experiences that resonate, long after the music fades.
