This Couple Got Married Before the Lockdown After Having to Reschedule Their Wedding Twice!

The eruption of Taal ruined their Plan A, while the Covid-19 pandemic halted their Plan B. Raf and Lark had to postpone their wedding twice, make new plans twice, and scrap both plans twice.

“Our first plan was to get married in San Antonio de Padua in Silang, Cavite. But, due to the ash fall and unpredictable status of Taal volcano, we decided to relocate in Madonna Del Divino Amore Quasi-Parish in Las Pinas.” Lark, Bride

“At first, it was totally devastating because after replanning, another challenge was given to us. I cried every night up until my bridal walk. But when we were already pronounced as husband and wife, our temporary worries turned into a lifetime of happiness.” Lark, Bride

Their original plan was to have the reception at The Pulo Events Place in Silang with 180 guests. When the Taal erupted, they moved the reception plans to Palazzo Verde in Las Pinas. They had to change this again when the government announced a Community Quarantine in Metro Manila.

“Because of the community quarantine in Metro Manila, we didn’t push through in Palazzo Verde. We just ate lunch in Mama Lou’s in Evia after the wedding with our immediate family.” Lark, Bride

The couple had to act fast and had to D.I.Y different elements for their impromptu wedding.

“When we got the approval from the church a day before March 14, we immediately headed to Acacia hotel to book for rooms. Fortunately, I got my wedding gown three weeks before. My bouquet was bought in South Supermarket on the day of the wedding.“ - Lark, Bride

“After everything that has happened with our plans, we learned that marriage is not about the fancy reception, beautiful wedding dress, and large crowds. It’s all about our love for each other and our commitment to God. We learned how to accept things beyond our control.” Lark, Bride
