This Couple Invited 1,200 Guests to Their Magnificent Indoor Garden Wedding!

When we talk about grand weddings, we mostly look at the styling and the scale of it, and believe me when I say that today’s wedding is ultra grand in both those aspects. Celebrity stylist Kimi Yap wed Jarvis Sy in a magnificent fete that their guests (and even we) will most likely never forget! Can you believe that they invited 1,200 guests?!! Throw in a gorgeous Michael Cinco wedding gown, citrine-colored entourage dresses by Martin Bautista, which was the same color of Kimi’s dress when Jarvis proposed to her, and the most breathtaking setup by the one and only Gideon Hermosa, and the result was secret garden-esque–the stuff dreams are made out of. We were lucky enough to ask the bride herself for some tidbits about the wedding planning, so keep scrolling to see how she (along with her groom and trusted suppliers) was able to pull everything off! All thanks to Pat Dy for sharing these amazing photos with us, and giving us a glimpse into this enchanted wonderland.

From the beginning, we knew we wanted a theme that was different, unique, and something that people have never seen before. We envisioned a theme that would make the guests feel like they were walking into a secret garden in the tropics, with an array of colorful and intricately designed floral arrangements that transformed the venue into a sort of enchanted wonderland.

Since the reception was going to be held in a large ballroom that can fit the number of guests that we invited (about 1,200), we wanted to ensure that people wouldn't be overwhelmed by the vastness of the venue. This was one of our guiding principles when the event was being planned--that guests would still have the feeling of an intimate event despite the scale of the venue, and that they would be too enthralled by their surroundings.

The team that worked on the wedding (from the event stylist, to the coordinator/planner, to the photographers, videographers, etc.) were all our first choice, and we feel incredibly fortunate that they were all available on our wedding day. It was non-negotiable that we couldn't get even just one of them. They all played an integral part in planning the wedding, and they are the reason why the wedding was as much as a success as it was.

I can honestly say that I loved every minute of our wedding. Every moment was memorable, from the time we were introduced for the first time in front of all our guests as Mr. and Mrs. Sy, to our first dance under the intricately designed floral chandelier, to the heartwarming speeches of our siblings, and of course, the super fun after party where almost everyone stayed until the wee hours of the morning.

We loved the entire wedding, but it is the icing on the cake that all our guests loved it as well, and had a really fun time!
