Patricia Prieto recently tied the knot with Kako Cojuangco in Bali and what a breathtaking celebration it was! Of course we couldn’t wait to learn more about the details of this chic destination wedding and share them with you. We talked to Patricia to find out what were some of their wedding must-haves, and why they chose Bali as their venue. So, here’s a little story time. Kako and Patricia’s first destination of choice was California, a place close to their hearts. Patricia shared, however, that there were a couple of things which kept stopping them from a booking a venue there. Call it destiny or fate, because they were eventually led to Bali, Indonesia. “Then we were invited to a wedding in Bali. It was Kako’s first time and my third, but experiencing the island together felt uniquely magical,” said Patricia.
And so the research began. Kako and Patricia were instantly mesmerized by Bali’s beauty. It was their coordinator who introduced them to what has turned out to be their dream wedding venue, Tanah Gajah, a luxury resort in Ubud, Bali. “We instantly fell in love with the place, even though we hadn’t seen it in person yet! It turned out to be the perfect venue for our dream wedding,” said Patricia.
Their wedding unfolded into such a memorable and gorgeous celebration with loved ones. Kako and Patricia wanted to make their special day unique and so they incorporated local flowers from Bali into their decorations, bouquets, and boutonnieres. “We also made sure to introduce our guests to different kinds of Indonesian food which was the only type of cuisine we served during both our welcome dinner and wedding day,” Patricia shared.
There’s lots more inspiration to discover from Kako and Patricia’s wedding. Keep on reading to see more of the bride’s favorite details, most especially her dream gown, as you scroll through these photos by ProudRad.
For a dream wedding to happen, you need a dream team. Since Kako and Patricia were very intentional about how they wanted their big day to look like, they knew how to pick the right suppliers who can bring their vision to life. “I knew I needed to have my dream glam, videography and photography teams in Bali for our special day! I knew that I wanted Anthea Bueno & Jay Aquino for my makeup and hair. We met Jason Magbanua at the wedding of Kako’s cousin in Bali and messaged him right away. For our photographers, I was introduced to ProudRad by my friend and was instantly captivated by the photos they took. I’m just glad that everything fell into place and we got to book them all for our wedding,” said Patricia.
We were also looking forward to seeing Patricia’s wedding gown – a dazzling three-piece ensemble. Patricia shared, “When I teamed up with Sassa Jimenez to design my wedding gown, I knew I wanted something I could wear throughout the entire celebration. We came up with a three-piece ensemble: The dress itself, soft tulle sleeves that elegantly wrapped around me, a belted tulle bustle and Jimmy Choo heels gifted by Laureen! As the night unfolded, I removed each piece until only my stunning wedding gown remained.”
Patricia also changed into two more gorgeous looks. For the reception, she added a personalized Gabbie Sarenas bow which had her engagement ring, flowers from the place where she and Kako got engaged, and their pet corgi, Ollie, embroidered on the fabric. Wanting a Filipino touch, Patricia opted for this piece to be made with piña shifu. And for the after-party, she then slipped into a custom ḢA.MÜ mini dress and a pair of sneakers to dance the night away in!
Dream venue, dream team, dream gown, all such beautiful details that took our breaths away. Beyond these stylish elements, though, we loved seeing such genuine smiles and the pure love and joy radiating from these photos. A remarkable wedding indeed for such a lovely couple. Congratulations and best wishes, Kako and Patricia!
