Spontaneity at Its Finest: A Stunning Impromptu Wedding Set In the Maldives

Ryan and Nya are an OFW couple whose wedding in the Philippines has been postponed three times. They decided to do something spontaneous for a change and booked a flight to the Maldives with only a week to plan and to pack their bags. A few days before their flight, they learned that their resort can hold weddings rich with unique culture and beautiful scenery. They decided to take their weddings bands with them, and the rest was history.

The couple was mostly barefoot and sported sunglasses throughout the ceremony. They drank coconut juice instead of wine. They even rode a Dhoni or “bridal boat” instead of a bridal car. It may not have been what Ryan and Nya initially planned, but it was even more beautiful than what they had dreamed. Take a sneak peek of paradise as you scroll through the beautiful photos by Meeru Moments of Ryan and Nya’s traditional Maldivian wedding.
