Beauty and the Bride: The Fashion Workshop

Hey, loves! Last Saturday, Bride and Breakfast and Colgate Optic White held our first ever Beauty and the Bride workshop at Le Jardin Manila. Woot woot! That day was just perfect to talk about weddings and fashion! It was made even more lovely because of the radiant brides that joined us, and I was so glad to have been able to chat with some of you about your wedding preps–it always makes me smile when I get to know the different stories that happen amidst all the planning!

Our event stylist and florist, Amante Fleurs, did a fantastic job of decorating the venue with a red, white, and silver backdrop and florals. The whole afternoon was packed with fun activities and goodies for our brides and their besties. From learning a few fashion tips from Tricia Gosingtian, to finding out from Mi Sueño Bridal Boutique and Tantease how to choose the perfect bridal and entourage gowns. There was never a dull moment! Our brides even got to actually try on the beautiful Mi Sueño and Tantease gowns, and be a bit competitive applying Tricia’s fashion tips by creating outfits from the Mango clothes that we had! It was so fun because they really acted as if it was a contest! You go, girls!

We really gave our brides the opportunity to have hands-on activities after all the talks, and I’m glad it was all captured in photos and video by Manny and April Photography and New Day Wedding Films. Everyone had a fantastic time! Scroll through the post below to see how our awesome day went!

The venue was so beautiful! Amante Fleurs added a pop of red blooms for a more romantic, elegant feel to our event. I really liked the use of the wooden ladder and the play of cloth–it was such an elegant way to beautifully decorate our stage. Swooning right now thinking about the glamorous set up!

Tricia gave our brides ideas on how to dress up for special events by teaching them different techniques on how to mix and match plains, prints, and accessories. Now I’m super sure the brides are more excited to plan and rock their outfits for their bridal shower, bachelorette party, and Despedida de Soltera!

There was also a group activity on styling the mannequins in clothes and accessories from Mango. A lot of our brides had different ideas on  how to mix and match the outfits, and they probably could’ve come up with more than ten looks with just these clothes! Tricia was on hand to assist the girls in creating the outfits, and coming up with a fun look that fits them perfectly. One of them even mentioned that learning from Tricia was one of her favorite parts of the event! Awww, super sweet!

Mi Sueño and Tantease were such a big help too! Pepper of Mi Sueño helped the girls get an idea of the gown design they might want. She explained to them the importance of the gown, how it determines the overall look of the wedding, and even gave them more tips on how to know it’s the one. She can actually be the wedding gown whisperer! It was truly a special moment for all of the brides, and they couldn’t help but show their bright smiles throughout the talk! We couldn’t even stop smiling–seeing those ladies in their wedding gowns made us so happy!

Of course, we couldn’t leave out the ever-reliable besties that came to support! Mimi of Tantease also gave a talk on how to choose a dress based on your body type, so the besties learned how to find the perfect look for their best friend’s big day. It was great because the focus also went towards them!

The cherry on top for these two talks: being able to try on gowns from Mi Sueño and Tantease! I mean, who wouldn’t want to try on wedding gowns? I think that’s the ultimate dream for every woman! And they were even able to get wonderful photos of themselves in it. Everyone just couldn’t help but show their bright smile upon seeing themselves in the mirror–they were all so gorgeous! I remember speaking with a few of our brides and some of them said that they tried on gowns they never thought they would pick, and they ended up loving it! It’s amazing how the dresses all looked like they were tailor fit for the besties too! Everything was just PER-FIT!

The food from Le Jardin Manila was so exquisite! Our brides and besties definitely enjoyed the pass-around cocktails and sparkling wine that was served. My personal faves were the Truffled Popcorn, Tuna Tartare, and Lamb Lasagne. The desserts were also so divine! We were so full… full of food and happiness!

We also had some time to spare for a short Q&A portion on wedding preps. There were definitely some really interesting questions that came up when planning a wedding! DreamStage Lights and Audio made sure that the event ran smoothly, and our host, Janeena Chan, kept the audience engaged and excited throughout the event.

After the activities, we wanted to make sure our brides and their besties went home extra happy, so we had a photo contest on Instagram where the attendees had to post a photo of themselves during the event. Five VERY lucky winners who posted in our #BeautyAndTheBride and #BNBxColgateOpticWhite hashtags were able to take home super nice Mango handbags! Even I was jealous of them! But of course we didn’t forget about everyone else! All the brides and their besties got a loot bag with goodies from Colgate Optic White and our other event partners. They also got really special discounts and freebies, and that definitely got everyone smiling from ear to ear!

I must admit, your wedding preparations can get a little crazy, but there are different ways to work around them that will help make it more enjoyable for you, your fiancé, and your besties. It was really so fulfilling getting the brides and their besties together and working with our suppliers to help our brides shine and smile even brighter for their wedding day, and I’m already so excited for our next workshop! You guys should be too! Don’t forget to sign up for Beauty and the Bride: The Beauty Workshop happening on October 2, 2016 (Sunday). I just can’t wait to meet our next batch of brides! This is gonna be A LOT of fun, ladies!
