Blissful Beauty

I might have just found the perfect wedding to help you get through the hump of the week, and it requires your full attention. Because when a Jeff & Lisa Photography set comes our way, we know the day is about to get good–and of course, we want to share it with you as well! Richmond and Elaine’s al fresco celebration was filled with rustic elements combined with hints of opulence. We’re talking about blissful gold bridesmaids dresses, long wooden tables with lush green and red foliage, and a beautiful cake that is the definition of understated elegance. Did we mention the bride was as radiant as can be? We can actually go on and on about this wedding, but the photos will most definitely be the better storyteller. Enjoy your day!

12 Wedding Movie Moments You Need To Watch

And because we are still on a high from Valentine’s Day (insert happy dance here!), the Bride and Breakfast team decided to list down some of the most notable wedding movie moments ever–from the funny to the kilig/sweep-you-off-your-feet type of scenes–we’ve got it all! So if you and your S.O. still want to have another date night (because everyday is Valentine’s Day!), might we suggest any of these movies for a post-V-Day movie (marathon) night? I would definitely say yes to that kind of date!

1.  Sex and the City

The proposal and wedding scene

If you were an SATC fan then you were probably a big fan of Mr. Big (okay, or maybe Aidan). There’s just something about his debonair and dashing demeanor that gets me every single time. So when this Manolo Blahnik shoe proposal finally happened, hallucinatory hearts of all shapes and sizes started coming out of the screen. Talk about ending the entire series in the most Carrie style!

2. Bridesmaids

The Wilson Phillips scene

Now if you want a good laugh, this scene from Bridesmaids is perfect for you! And if you are a huge Wilson Phillips fan, then even better! Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig were completely hilarious! And to be honest, I was practically crying from laughter the entire movie. And this last part was definitely a favorite!

3. Father of the Bride

The night before the wedding scene

This movie is probably one of my favorite wedding movies. But this scene especially? Oh gosh, it just tugs at my heartstrings! I can just imagine the heartbreak of Steve Martin’s character the night before the wedding! And when it started snowing towards the end of this scene? Cue the tears, please.

4. Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1

This particular scene definitely brought the entire Bride and Breakfast team to wedding decor dreamland. That aisle backdrop was too gorgeous for words. And don’t even get us started when the song Flightless Bird, American Mouth played. Remember that scene from the first movie? I would’ve included that scene in this list too, if it fell in the same category. But this scene would most definitely do!

Ethereal and Elegant

Ok, this post is a little extra-special for me because it’s actually my younger brother’s wedding. You’d maybe think that having a sister as a wedding blogger would mean full-time-hovering-over wedding planning and the like. Fortunately, I can proudly say I was not a sister-zilla to little bro Martin and my now sister-in-law, Anna. In fact, they would just come to me occasionally for things that they needed tips on. I would always say, “It’s your wedding, make sure you do what is nice for you!” Thankfully, these two apples do not fall far from the sister tree! They went for a classic luxe romantic theme, which is always a yes for me. And of course they made sure they worked with suppliers that jived with their vision.

Jo Claravall was a pure styling genius, executing a tasteful white reception filled with orchids, tulips, and other exquisite florals. Tall candelabras made everything look so sophisticated and elegant. Another favorite of mine was the garden ceremony set up–it felt like a scene from Meet Joe Black! (Confession, those lanterns almost got stolen by me!) It was minimalist, yet the florals felt lush. I actually adored the black elements which is not something I usually like.

Myio Okamoto will simply stun you with the most amazing snaps for that day (scroll down and see for yourself)! Ian Celis Productions also made sure that the video was equally riveting–and yes, I was almost in tears with disbelief that Martin was actually married already. From the Pronovias gown that Anna wore, to the Hannah Kong bridesmaid and secondary sponsor dresses that I too got to dress up in, everything was just pure prettiness.

I could go on and on and on and on about how much I loved their wedding, and maybe it’s the big sister in me that makes me do so. I really hope you like this fête as much as I did! Go ahead and be inspired.
