Check Out What Unconventional Fabric This Bride Chose for Her Wedding Dress!

Instead of the usual tulle and lace wedding dresses that we see in weddings, today’s bride, Anika, chose to design her ceremony dress using a tweed-like textured woven fabric combined with a floral jacquard. By going for a classic silhouette, the unconventional choice of fabric that’s usually used for casual wear was elevated to a beautiful and timeless dress that stood out down the aisle.

"As a designer, my brand is known for minimalist designs with a twist, sticking to mostly neutrals. For my wedding day, I wanted something fresh and striking, yet still evoking my style and personality revolving around simplicity." -Anika, bride

Look at how Vince and Anika’s simple and beautiful day unfolded below.

It’s definitely commendable that even through all the constraints and redirections of the current situation, Vince and Anika still stayed true to who they are as a couple, and it reflected in their simple wedding celebration.

They originally planned to get married in El Nido, Palawan but with the quarantine in place, they just decided to simply get married close to home and surrounded by family.

(Layout) "Why put our lives on hold just because of this road block? Why postpone plans when we both want to start our life together already? Planning our intimate ceremony and celebration allowed us to really strip down to the essentials." - Anika, bride

(Layout) "This uncertain time has reminded us that the sacrament of marriage is of course more important than a wedding celebration. The big celebration can wait. We can always celebrate with friends and extended family one day—when it is safe to do so." Anika, bride

(Layout) "This pandemic has taught us to zero in on what matters most in life—and to be aligned with those values as husband and wife. These trying times have reminded us that the simplest things in life can make us happy. We don’t need much to live a life full of meaning and joy." -Anika, bride
