Uncertainty is the #NewNormal that wedding suppliers and couples are all facing now because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Wedding dates are moved like dominoes and emotions are heightened because of the wait. But despite this, the Bayanihan spirit is very much alive in the industry! We see suppliers pool together their knowledge to help couples navigate through this tough time. Today, we’ll share with you some very useful wedding templates developed by SaveEventsPH, in collaboration with Hello & Co. Cinema and Ram Marcelo Photography, to help you make the best decisions about your wedding day. Darlene Tan-Salazar, an events emcee and the person behind The Wedding Tip Sheet, also gives answers to some pressing questions from soon-to-weds below.
Darlene Tan-Salazar says:
“The first thing to do is to check the needed Church and civil documents you need for your ceremony to push through. You can also consult with your coordinators about the timelines needed to complete all your documents on time.
Second, prepare and proofread your wedding invitations and have them ready for printing once the ECQ gets lifted.
Lastly, if you really feel the need to reschedule your wedding, click here for a downloadable guide on how you can efficiently go about it. The first sheet will guide you in your decision making process, while the second and third sheets are guides for rescheduling your wedding if it’s really necessary.”
Darlene Tan-Salazar says:
“For couples whose weddings are in the latter part of the year 2020, they should focus on preparations. The last sheet in the downloadable guide contains a list of tasks that you can do while on lockdown.”
Darlene Tan-Salazar says:
“While we can’t be certain about what the new normal would be, we can speculate about what might be possible. Social distancing might be necessary for the sitting arrangement of guests. Instead of having 10 seats per round table, couples might be required to have only five. Another difference may be that sit down food service might be recommended more than the buffet set up. Though an assisted buffet can be done since guests won’t be holding and passing serving spoons, social distancing must also be observed. The number of guests per wedding might be lower compared to the usual 150 upwards.”
Darlene Tan-Salazar says:
“I am an emcee but I think I can speak for a lot of suppliers. We are excited to see the smiles of our couples–to feel their joy and excitement over their big day and to have a chance to be with our our co-suppliers and staff again.”
SaveEventsPH is an offshoot of the worldwide campaign called #SaveEvents. Ycoy Sitchon of La Belle Fête gathered together like minded suppliers who feel that despite being affected by the current crisis themselves, they can still help the community especially the frontliners, event staff, clients, and their peers. The group infused the Bayanihan spirit Filipinos are known for; thus, the name #saveeventsph.
