This Couple had a Jay-Z and Beyonce Inspired Wedding and It Looked so Fun!

Today’s wedding feels like it came straight out of a music video! Renz and Joselle are fans of Jay-Z and Beyonce, so when planning their wedding, they simply asked themselves “What would Jay and Bey do?!” Let’s start with the reception details: we’re just in awe with the beautiful lighting. The hanging lights shaped as cubes had such an amazing effect on the entire venue, while the bright lighting design on stage also gave off concert vibes. Even the tables were lit so warmly with several candles and little white lamps. Apart from the glimmering lights, we enjoyed how the bride squad provided eye-catching pops of color in their salmon pink and mustard yellow ensembles. They even wore varying styles, like short dresses, coats, jumpsuits, and long dresses! Although they were in different kinds of outfits, the solid tones of pink and yellow (plus a few purple and green) still made them look consistent with one another. To complement the vibrant colors, the groom’s party took on a neutral palette of nude and green. Renz wore a baby pink suit throughout the event, while Joselle switched to a pink suit to match her groom during the reception. What a stylish way to add color to the event! No doubt everyone had an incredible time celebrating with Renz and Joselle. The couple even went up on stage and performed with the band! Find out more about this fun and energetic wedding celebration as you scroll through these shots by Proud Rad.

"I love Beyonce and my husband is a fan of Jay-Z. So, when we were thinking about what we wanted the wedding to be like, we asked ourselves 'What would Jay-Z and Beyonce do?'" Joselle, Bride

How did you come up with your theme and how was it incorporated in your wedding?
“I love Beyonce and my husband is a fan of Jay-Z. So when we were thinking about what we wanted the wedding to be like–we asked ourselves ‘What would Jay-Z and Beyonce do?'”

“In our batch and groups, a lot of people are getting married and we noticed that there was already a “pattern” or “template” which we sort of wanted to veer away from. We wanted our wedding to best represent us as individuals and as a couple. More than a wedding, we wanted it to be a celebration.”

“We made sure that everything was well-thought of and in-theme down to the tiniest of details. When we chose the suppliers that we would work with, we made sure that their style and way of execution were aligned with our vision. Every time we would meet with our suppliers, we’d present a deck which gives them a picture of how we imagined the day and what the outputs would be like.”

How did you choose the color palette for your entourage?
“We wanted something that would stand out since the feel of our ceremony and reception venues are crisp and clean. We had a pretty big entourage and we didn’t want to stick to just one color. I got inspired by the colored suits of Lesyanebo and wanted to do something similar for my entourage. It took a series of color matching back and forth with Neric Beltran and Kuya Rainier.”

How did you decide on the details for the reception? And what, for you, are some of the most unique details?
“Just like how we decided on things regarding our wedding, we asked ourselves “How would Jay & Bey do it?” We didn’t want the reception to feel so “templated” or like the usual reception program.”

“We knew that cocktails would really set the tone of what the reception would be like. For cocktails, instead of the usual grazing table you’d see in most events, we got fun finger food! Potato snacks from Potato Giant & a brick oven pizza station by Casa Nostra. To entertain our guests during cocktails, we were inspired by Kanye West’s Sunday Service so we also got a young group of choir singers from De La Salle University to sing R&B and cool filipino songs like Kilometro by Sarah G.”

“We started our reception with a video of our pre-nup to really set the tone. Our first dance as a couple and our families wasn’t choreographed. We just decided to go with the flow and groove on our own while Billy Crawford sang–it wasn’t a slow dance by the way haha!”

“We opened our party with a reveal of the Itchyworms followed by the DJ. The best part of the after-party was the grub! We had the Burger Machine truck serve burgers, roast beef, and sansrival for our intoxicated guests! We also had an after-party photographer to shoot in black and white to capture all of the craziness.”

How would you describe your wedding day?
“It was the absolute BEST! We loved everything about it. Truly truly memorable & we want to do it again!”
