Color-charmed Couple

Posted by Janna Simpao

Think blue skies and yellow sunflowers! A fun engagement shoot usually involves some color play. Take for instance Luis and Eve’s Singapore photo session with Jaja Samaniego. Today it’s gonna be blue and yellow and a whole lot of lovin’!

Have a colorful Thursday folks!

Sunshine Sweethearts

Posted by Janna Simpao

Sunshine goodness never gets old. And boy, oh boy, do we have a treat for today. This fun and fresh-looking fête will be our feast of fancy this wonderful Wednesday. Well I’m guessing that Jep and Sarah’s wedding was certainly destined for gorgeousness. With a super talented and creative team behind the event, I expected nothing less. I can’t even begin to enumerate what we love about this affair–the ethereal gown, the country chic details that were amazingly executed through different ways, the youthful but elegant bouquets, those crazy creative cotton pod boutonnières, the cute checkered flower girl dresses, the lovely laid-back reception setup… I could go on and on and on. But the best part is Jaja Samaniego (we love her work!), captured all the deets perfectly, which means we can swoon over this wedding for days to come.

The Dashing and Divine

Posted by Janna Simpao

I see so many beautiful weddings on a daily basis, but if there was one wedding that is totally in my dream wedding look book this would be it! Again Nelwin Uy made sure the best of this day was captured on film. Howard and Lada’s wedding shouts exquisite taste and elegance. From the soft color palette  to the fresh and clean vibe, I can not help but gush over how pretty, I mean REALLY PRETTY this affair is. C’mon, you’ve got to agree with me when I say this is hands down one of the most romantic fetes you have ever laid your eyes on. A dashingly beautiful couple, paired with those glittering bridemaid dresses and that perfect reception decor makes every bit fabulously timeless.

Spring and Serendipity

Posted by Janna Simpao

Although we might be expecting heavy rains today, it’s still gonna be bright and sunny here at Bride and Breakfast. Albert and Nicole’s wedding is filled with simple and dainty details, not to mention hues that are easy on the eyes and all about youth and freshness. Ohhhhh! Those outfits of the whole entourage are all so cute, cute, cute! Another thing I am loving are the flowers used for the reception–it kinda reminds me of an English garden theme. Yes, I am a sucker for those spring tones! So jump in and enjoy the photos. Have a great Thursday B&B’ers!

Edgy Yellow Affair

Posted by Janna Simpao

Modern and maddeningly marvelous, this wedding is for the edgy, daring and adventurous who like structural designs. From the gown to the beautiful and boxy cake, patterns and lines have predominantly made this affair not your usual wedding around the corner. When the bright yellow sun and the gray rainy cloud met, it just happened to conjure up a perfect palette for RJ and Charisse.

Yummy, Youthful and Yellow

Posted by Janna Simpao

Since we’ve been having super sunny days lately, I think it would be appropriate to feature a sunshine-filled wedding. With bursts of yellow and an extremely radiant bride, this wedding is everything happy, bright and fun. Another thing to love about this wedding is that the couple, John and Criselle made it a point to show their personalities, exercise their creativity, and maximized their resources to achieve the wedding they’ve always dreamed of.  Key word: FOOD!

From the bride:

From the beginning, we wanted to work on a theme, not just a color theme; but a theme that speaks of us. We are quite opposites. I am more loud and experimental, John is a bit more serious and conventional. John plays golf, I love to sing. I hate sports, he hates dancing and singing. It started as if there was no common thing we both liked until we realized we just had it right under our nose—John and I love going to the market, eating, cooking and exploring new recipes and personalizing them. So we ended up with the kitchen theme.

To start off, we had our engagement shoot in Robinsons supermarket and a kitchen. Our invite was also quite different, I had a friend create the copy for us. The design had pans and aprons and kitchen stuff on it. Our souvenirs were silver spoons and forks and the backdrop we used for our photobooth had scribbles of salt and pepper shakers. Instead of numbering our tables, we named them— each table was named with either a spice or a herb. Even our bridal registry list was full of kitchen equipment! Our cake topper was also a miniature version of us wearing chefs hats while holding a golf club and a microphone.

Andre and Pia

Posted by Janna Simpao

Its rare to see weddings that show so much creativity and spunk in the Philippines. I think partly because we are a very traditional and culture-focused nation. Many weddings choose to stick to the mold and follow the rules we’ve grown accustomed to. However, more and more couples today are being more experimental and daring in planning their big day. It’s so great to see that weddings are starting to really reflect the couple’s character and style.

One gorgeous wedding I saw was Andre and Pia’s wedding. Pure loveliness indeed.

How breathtaking is this bouquet?

This cake has charm written all over it.

As you can see in the photos, the wedding was so cozy and personal. So I asked Pia why their wedding was so “them”.

I guess because we planned the wedding based on everything we like but we still gave considerations to certain traditions and cultures. For example, no more releasing of doves but we released balloons instead. We didn’t have the games anymore but we didn’t skip on the cake cutting and the drinking of wine as they have more meaning (for us).

We talked about having a simple but charming wedding, so our wedding has the old world charm feel which we both like.

We personally chose the flowers/plants for table setting, we made the playlist for the entire wedding from the church down to cocktails and dinner!

We were very hands on which is why we don’t regret anything about the wedding. We just followed our hearts’ desires! I think when you plan something from the heart, your self will truly show.

We (Andre and I) made our props (mustaches) for our Baicapture photobooth. it’s a nice touch to make things more personal since we know that photobooths are everywhere nowadays. I also asked an artist friend to do our backdrop instead of the selection templates of Baicapture. We used this backdrop design for our thank you cards as well.

To Andre and Pia, cheers to your beautiful wedding!
