The Great Indoors: Shoot Marathon Hosted by Teamba Designs X Bride and Breakfast

Posted by Janna Simpao

After the Inspire Initiative did the shoot marathon last year, a lot of people have followed suit. I mean, why wouldn’t they? A shoot marathon is fun, costs a lot less than an individual shoot, and gives you over and beyond your money’s worth.

We at Bride and Breakfast have been contemplating on hosting one, but we wanted it to be very unique given that there have been a number of shoots coming out left and right. We wanted it to have that extra ooomph, for the participants to feel that they wouldn’t have their photos taken any other way. And at B&B, we firmly believe that we should give our readers the best deals out there. With that in mind, our collaboration with Teamba Designs was forged. Believe me, this is one shoot marathon YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS.

Teamba Designs have been making waves in the industry because of the way they approach production design. Their work is impeccable, tasteful, artsy, and most of all, well executed with quality and style. We knew this was the collaboration we’ve been waiting for, and the event suits what our readers want.

The most awesome thing about it is its AFFORDABILITY despite the big names and services involved. With the brilliant theme set-up, the amazing photographer line-up, the inclusions of styling, hair and make-up, and the edited photos, THIS PACKAGE IS A STEAL! Here’s the overall moodboard of the themes. Of course we won’t show you the final design per station, but we’ll be posting teasers here and there to show you how things are being built from the ground up.

Registration Process:

  1. Register by filling up the form below.
    • Once the maximum number of slots are reached per schedule, succeeding registrations will be placed on the waitlist.
  2. If there is still an available slot for you, you will receive a slot confirmation email. This will contain payment details and other information.
  3. Submit proof of payment (e.g. deposit slip, confirmation email) two days after registering to secure your slot.
    • All unpaid slots will be given to the next couple on the waitlist.

We’ll be posting more information about the shoot marathon in the coming days, but for now, check out the F.A.Q. below.

Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

What is a shoot marathon?

A shoot marathon is a type of photo shoot wherein there are various styled backdrops where participants will be photographed in. Each participant is given a period of time to get photographed by different photographers stationed in each area.

How is it different from a traditional photo shoot?

As compared to a traditional shoot, a marathon shoot provides more options for backdrops. In the case of The Great Indoors, there will be six themed stations creatively built by Teamba Designs.

Who can join the shoot marathon?

The shoot marathon is open to couples or individuals. We welcome all kinds of couples, whether dating, engaged, or married. Debutantes looking for a pre-debut shoot are welcome to join. This can also be for your individual or personal use, if you so desire! Slots are limited to a maximum of two people, as we are only able to provide styling and wardrobe design for two.

What makes this shoot marathon different from other shoot marathons?

Bride and Breakfast has collaborated with Teamba Designs to come up with themes that have never been done before by other shoot marathons. Because Teamba Designs specializes in production design, the stations promise a jaw-dropping reaction from our participants.

What are the advantages?

The first advantage of course is the price and quality. If you were to create this setup for an individual shoot, you will probably spend hundreds of thousands just to create the look we offer. In this case, you will only spend a very small fraction of that amount to get mind-blowing photos. Another advantage is that since this is a collaboration with Bride and Breakfast, you can be assured that we have put our stamp of approval on this event in terms of taste, style, and beauty.

How do we know if the suppliers involved are good?

Each supplier participating in the shoot marathon was handpicked by the organizers. They have excellent portfolios and have top-notch reputations in the fashion and wedding industry.

How will our photos be different from the other 35 participants?

Since there will be 36 participants using the six back drops, Teamba Designs will continuously tweak each station throughout the day. They will be providing different props that will make your shoot uniquely yours.

Will there be time slots for the morning/afternoon and afternoon/evening sessions?

You will be given one of three 5-hour waves within the session that you choose. This includes hair and makeup, wardrobe styling, and the actual shoot. The coordinators will be the one to assign you your wave within the slot. For now, just block off the entire 6:00am to 3:00pm for the morning/afternoon slot and 2:00pm to 10:30pm for the afternoon/evening slot. You will get more details once you register.

Do we need to bring food?

We will be providing some light snacks but we ask that you bring a heavier meal (e.g. sandwiches) in case you get hungry. It’s hard to smile with an empty stomach!

What are the inclusions?

Participants get the following:

  • Photo shoots in six summer-themed set design layouts (Lush, Ocean, Shore, Sky, Sun, Night) by talented photographers from the fashion and wedding industry
  • One makeup look and one retouch per couple/participant
  • Two hairstyling changes
  • Three wardrobe stylings provided by the stylist (you can also bring your own)
  • Post-event kit: 24 edited photos, raw photos, 6”x6” wooden canvas of preferred photo, and overall behind-the-scenes video of the event

Will we be able to show these photos in our events (e.g. wedding, debut, anniversary celebration)?

Of course! The edited photos will serve as great material for your event slideshows.

The Cheeky Chic

Posted by Janna Simpao

It’s not often that you find the words simple and grand in the same sentence. But for today’s feature, we can’t help but be in awe of Dick and Sharon’s pre-wedding shoot. Because we couldn’t wrap our heads around how it could be so simple and yet evoke such grand emotions. It’s light and fun, as well as magnificently romantic. And just like that, we’re admiring these photos by Toto Villaruel with pure delight.

Behind the Scenes of Wed Colorfully

Posted by Janna Simpao

We make it a point to write about the people who get involved in our editorials. This is because for those who liked what we did, it’s also good for you to know how each supplier brought in their skills and expertise to the whole look. So excuse us for this lengthy post! We want to give credit where credit is due!

We very well knew that the Wed Colorfully editorial was going to be a fun but tricky shoot. So we needed to make sure everyone was up for the challenge. When we saw the outcome, all I can say is that we were beyond pleased. We sure hope you were too! So let me take a few minutes to share about the wonderful people behind this shoot.

Toto Villaruel is one of the easiest photographers to work with. Aside from his brilliant treatment for photos, he also makes sure he listens to the people around him. He was keen in knowing what we wanted for the shoot and made sure he mixed it with his signature style of easy, unassuming, and timeless photography. Although admittedly, he said this shoot was a bit of a challenge for him, I think he performed it with flying colors. Assisting him was Nicolai Melicor who was not only a wonder woman behind the camera, but a complete hit with the little girls as well. Definitely a heaven-sent plus!

I only have one word for Gideon Hermosa, the set stylist/florist… “WOW”! Being pressed for time since we had a very little window to prepare for the whole thing, Gideon somehow transformed our venue into a Kate Spade Haven. Every detail was every bit charming as well as festive. I can’t even figure out which of the backdrops and sets I liked the most, because everything had its unique magic and whimsy. If you are looking for someone creative, he’s your guy. Oh, and special thanks to K. by Cunanan for sharing with us their table and cutlery, and Cilla & Co. for the fab ghost chairs.

Of course, we wouldn’t be able to achieve the polished and elegant side of the shoot if it weren’t for our gorgeous venue.  I am a big big big fan of European design, and R Space gives you that. With a beautiful interior and a great location (Makati), I super recommend it for intimate weddings or celebrations. You can dress it up in so many ways, or keep it as is because of its already chic decor. We can’t thank Rita Neri Event Planners enough for making sure we were taken care of! We had the best time shooting there. I’m putting a photo up just so you see what I’m talking about.

If you loved the videos of this shoot, we have Treehouse Story to thank for that! Their quirky and upbeat approach is such a breath of fresh air. We love seeing new styles of wedding videography and we’re glad we got to do it for Wed Colorfully.

On to the lovely details of this shoot. We’re definitely giving The Delightful Miss Joyce two thumbs up for the wonderful colorful cakes! (Yes, I am still dreaming of eating them!) And did you see the darling invitations by Anna Cristobal? We make sure that every editorial shows a creative way of doing your invites. The patterns, gold, and bold colors will surely be a hit with your guests.

And if you are wondering about the gorgeous ensembles in this shoot, let me break it down for you. From Vania Romoff, we have the drop-dead-gorgeous gold-striped gown, the blue-green ball skirt, and Alana’s lilac silk flower girl dress. Shirley Co made the white knee-length wedding dress with sleeves and the cutesy yellow cropped top. For the little girls, she dressed Alana in the orange top and pants suit, Teegan in the pink cropped top paired with the blue polka dot skirt, and Danda in the chic blue and white dress, and the pink orange and blue colored piece. Did you see that black and white polka dot dress worn by Fatima? It’s by Joe San Antonio. She also made the fuchsia and orange dresses of Teegan and Danda. To make sure everyone was extra pretty, we had Jennifer Tan-Chi of Bead Blessed as our jewelry designer. You’d be crazy not to love her stuff. For Hideo, Elizabeth Hallie Vy created a classic black tuxedo and Boy Kastner Santos provided the quirkier orange/rust suit. PHEW! Our models who were dolled up by our super nice makeup artist Gari Son were definitely looking so good as they jumped from one outfit to another! And of course we had the wonderful girls of Lifestyle by Feliz making sure all the outfits came together perfectly. They gave their 101% in making sure the energy and happy vibe was high during the whole time. We totally love em!

Wed Colorfully: A Kate Spade Inspired Editorial

Posted by Janna Simpao

Be still, my heart! All this color is making me giddy beyond my wits. As you know, we love doing wedding editorials here at Bride and Breakfast. And for the beginning of 2014, we decided on the theme Wed Colorfully, a Kate Spade inspired wedding editorial. We wanted color, we wanted fun; we wanted vibrance, charm, and everything in between. We know most of our readers are dying to put some color into their own wedding, so we decided to drop some hints on how you could brighten up that special day! We’ve gathered a bunch of respected suppliers in the industry to help create our hue fest and make sure that all of you will be screaming adorable after seeing the whole set. With Toto Villaruel behind the lens and Treehouse Story capturing the most precious moments of this shoot (video at the end of this post), we get a glimpse of how it looks like to celebrate in color. We will be talking about all the wonderful and talented people who worked so hard for this shoot to come to life in our behind-the-scenes video next week (which will also show you how much fun we had)!

Our real couple Hideo Muraoka and Fatima Rabago were such gems. They were certainly beautiful inside and out (yes, all of us who were watching them were in a perpetual state of swooning). And of course our little princesses Danda, Teegan, and Alana were so cute we could diiiieee! Sit back, and let the color and details of this shoot make your hearts grin and your souls dance.

Cozy, Chic and Cherished

Posted by Janna Simpao

With only a few days into 2014 and we already find it hard to unglue ourselves from Bride and Breakfast. And today I am stuck to my seat and hopelessly enjoying Sherwin and Irene’s pre-wedding photos. I have Toto Villaruel to blame of course. The lighting of this set is pure beauty. Gimme five more minutes and I promise I’ll be on my way.

Quaint Cuteness

Posted by Janna Simpao

If there’s something we can’t say no to, it’s a playfully quaint celebration. Richmond and Yeye’s wedding that Toto Villaruel sent our way is just that. With a few modern twists and a whole lot of pretty, this affair will surely tickle your love bones. It’s not everyday that we get to feature a bride with really short hair (I love it!) and a gown with gold geometric embellishments. Add that to the usually gorgeous Vatel Manila bouquets and the cutest buttounieres by {etc} Handmade Goodness and you’ve got yourself the perfect day.

Don’t forget to check out Film Factory‘s lovely video too!
