The Grandeur of Glamour

Posted by Rachelle Que

Long-time sweethearts Carlo and celebrity stylist Kat tie the knot in a fête that is flush with sophisticated details and unbridled merriment. Old elegance and luxurious glamour was executed in tasteful restraint (I loved the almost-modest brooches on the bouquets and fascinators)! The rich berry hues and string of pearls on the entourage were gorgeous–they were the perfect supporting act to the bridal gown which was absolutely breathtaking!

I have always adored Jun Escario creations. With the exquisite bodice of intricate beading, and a soft tulle that delicately wraps around the neck and shoulders, this one is no exception! Just thinking about it makes my heart race! Photographer Nelwin Uy, notorious for catching beautiful candids, captured all the best laughs, tears, and stolen moments in Kat and Carlo’s special day.

Feast your eyes on this beautiful affair which, I’m pretty sure those in attendance will join in saying, is one to remember.

Festive Fairytales

Posted by Janna Simpao

Don’t you just love days that are filled with beauty and romance? So let’s start the week like we always do, with a good cup of coffee and a plate of wedding inspirations. Today’s gorgeous fête was shot by one of our favorite photographers, Francis Perez, Team Pat Dy. His love for the dreamy and beautiful is always reflected in his work. I know because you can see how John and Tine certainly were a glowing pair. And because we love details, you must simply check out Tine’s exquisite gown with cascading petals. Yes, fairytales and Mondays certainly go well together!

Captivating Classic Charm

Posted by Janna Simpao

In a time wherein personalities really reflect I do’s, I get to enjoy different creative affairs and appreciate diversity of themes. Yet, there is always an unexplainable beauty about the classic approach to weddings. Noel and Viv’s wedding is just that. It had the right amount of elegance, feminine details and soft elements. Let’s see… a gorgeous Pronovias gown (which photographs beautifully I might add!), those too-pretty-for-words pastel entourage gowns, plus an English garden vibe to the reception was enough to send me to a wedding dreamy daze.

And on an even more romantic note, our dashing groom, who wanted to surprise his bride with a feature in B&B wrote:

Dear Viv,

It’s been 3 months since our wedding but it still feels like yesterday. I wanted to surprise you with this because I remember how much we used to enjoy browsing Bride and Breakfast and getting inspiration during our wedding planning. Thank you for being such a perfect partner as we embark on this new adventure together. Love you!

Love,
Noel

Floral Fever

Posted by Janna Simpao

What a colorful year 2011 has been for Bride and Breakfast. It warms my heart thinking how we’ve met so many new friends through all these beautiful weddings. But before I go on with my emotional sentiments, I wanna make sure I end the year with some color. I was very touched with the letter the groom (YES, THE GROOM) wrote me in hopes that he could surprise his new wife. Here’s his letter and some flowery goodness.

Dearest Bride & Breakfast,

This letter is admittedly unorthodox in that it is the groom—and not the bride—who is writing to you. While I was heavily hands-on during the preparations, it was my lovely wife, Jennifer, who conceptualized everything from the theme—French-Bohemian or, as Jen terms it, “Pari(s)-Boheme”—to the smaller, oft-neglected details, such as the boutonniere. I still vividly recall her combing through innumerable websites and scrutinizing volumes of wedding magazines and similar literature to distill elements of what, at least for us, was a perfect wedding.

And I remember Jen reading through, and painstakingly studying, the content of what then was the Bride & Breakfast Blog—arguably modest in presentation and (online) presence, but unquestionably grand in vision.

I am writing to you now to not only congratulate you on your elevation to a full website, but also, and more important, to thank you for being such an immense blessing to us.

Further, this letter, assuming it is featured in your website, will not only be a delightful surprise to my wife (who is completely unaware of this letter), but also an opportunity to enable us, through you, to also aid couples (and even couples-to-be) in preparing for what readily is, and should be, the most memorable moment of their lives.

Sincerely,

Atty. Andre R. de Jesus

Simple Can Be Sensational

I’m always on the lookout for unique and well-crafted videos. Today’s save-the-date trailer is one that was well-thought of, genuine and showed beauty in simplicity. We don’t often come across material that takes you to the story even without knowing the subjects, today however is our lucky day. See for yourself.

Pretty Perfection

Posted by Janna Simpao

I told myself I’d take a break from blogging for two weeks. However, when I saw Adrian and Zabrina’s wedding, I immediately changed my mind. I can’t simply stand the idea of withholding such breathtaking photos from all you B&B readers out there.

Simply adoring how Nelwin Uy captured elegant shots of the couple, their entourage and the little details here and there. I also can’t help but gush over Francis Libiran’s design for the wedding gown. His approach on encrusted crystals and fabric manipulation leaves me with one word in mind–divine!

Adrian and Zabrina, your day has perfection written all over it.

The Rock Star and his Princess

Posted by Janna Simpao

Last week we featured a chic Paris honeymoon shoot from our cute couple Paolo and Kate. Well, well, well, it certainly gets better on this Monday morning because their wedding is also full of adorable details that will make you love their style even more. I for one will always be a sucker for pink weddings. So this just in–sweet and elegant little princess meets her rockin’ hip prince charming… it’s a love story for the hopeless romantic.

Even their wedding video has cuteness written all over it! That chalk board is was a good investment!

From the bride:

We wanted our wedding to be as personal and as heartfelt as it can be. We conveyed it through music and through every possible detail we can put our hands on. From our personalized soundtrack that was played by Da Capo in the church, the 70′s soul music by Mulatto during the reception,  and the customized design of our props and stationery and the style of our entourage, our guests can really feel that it was Paolo & Kate’s wedding.

Paolo and I are both in the advertising business–Paolo’s with the Creatives and I’m with Planning. So when we started planning the wedding, it was absolutely easy to divide the tasks between us.

For the overall look & feel, we agreed on French spring time colors and dainty details. Paolo, designed our invitation with a graphic rendition of our wedding date “11-02-2011″ (11th of Feb 2011) that uniquely formed the heart shape at the middle. He came up with the “chalkboard” concept of our on-site video and picked the song “Hard to Concentrate” by Red Hot Chili Peppers. And since, he’s the musician between the two of us, he was entirely in charge of the music. He chose my bridal march song, “Nothing But Love” by Mr. Big and even directed how it should be sang. The chapel doors opened dramatically when the song reached the chorus, I saw Paolo in tears as I was walking down the aisle, and everyone I can see from my sight was just in tears… it couldn’t have been more perfect than that.

Young, Yours and Yellow

Posted by Janna Simpao

You guessed it right, it’s yellow day today! Not only do we have a dashing couple, we also have buttons, checkered patterns, pinwheels and other DIY goodies overflowing with cuteness. Inspired by Allan and Sig’s bright-as-sunshine personalities, this wedding radiates a fun-loving/bubbly/relaxed/quirky/childlike vibe (one adjective wasn’t enough to get the idea across)! Yes it’s yellow day today, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

From the couple:

We are fun-loving and easygoing hence we chose the yellow and gray motif to make the atmosphere lively. Sig, being a preschool teacher, likes making crafts and knows how to keep the kids occupied. She made the table numbers, pompoms for the VIP tables, and an activity bag for the kids that was composed of crayons, coloring books and toys that were all age-appropriate–these made the kids have fun and behave as well. People who don’t know Allan think he’s cool and “sosyal” but when you get to know him you’ll find out he’s really “baduy” deep inside. The mood of the wedding reflected his personality perfectly–simple and elegant but not stiff or pretentious. This made everyone feel at ease during the entire program.
