Celebrity Wedding Video: Yael and Karylle

It seems like 2014 is a popular year for Philippine celebrities to tie the knot–and we are so not complaining. Yael and Karylle, both celebrities, said their I do’s last Friday and people have been curious to know what it was like. Well today, their official videographer Threelogy is giving us a glimpse of how this fun couple celebrated their big day. Of course, Yael’s song (being that his is a singer in a band) is playing in the background. There are so many things to love about the wedding, but like most of the girls out there, I usually go check the gown first. And I loooveee Karylle’s gown by Furne One. We’ll probably see more of it when the photos come out, but for now, enjoy this great vid and see these lovebirds goof around.

A Beautiful Blossoming

For a self-confessed wedding addict such as myself, beautiful affairs make my heart full. And doing this for almost four years now, my love for wedding style and beauty has never wavered. I am so glad I could wake up to mornings filled with inspirations on love and creativity. And today, Jur and Justine’s set by Nicolai Melicor surely gave me the biggest smile ever! I am going crazy over that ceremony set up by Vatel Manila–talk about a dainty delight! Justine’s gown is chic and charming, and nothing beats a classic tuxedo for the groom of course! The bride’s makeup by Jasmine Mendiola was also impeccable. I also love the simple and sweet set up of K. by Cunanan during the reception dinner. Sometimes the most unassuming styles make the most unexpected statements.

Wedding in Wonderland

Posted by Janna Simpao

For months now, people have been dying to see how Abet and Benz (the minds behind the Philippine website called Weddings at Work or W@W) would celebrate their 15th anniversary. You see, these two lovebirds have been around in the business for more than a decade, and they have been a big part of the lives of both couples and wedding suppliers. There were talks of a renewal of vows, but most people didn’t really know what to expect. Well, thanks to the official photographer Ryan Ortega, we’re happy to say that today we get to see this well-buzzed about wedding for the first time. You don’t normally see a Vegas drive-thru wedding here in B&B.

I am absolutely giddy with delight that we get to kick off the week with something unconventional yet bursting with color and character. If you are thinking fun with a festively glam kick, then this is just the thing you need to inspire on this beautiful Monday. I’d have to say that out of all the amazing details, I think my favorite would be the wardrobe. Benz looked all charmed up in her Veluz attire (yup, not your usual Veluz look as well!) while Abet along with his pals Jason Magbanua and Bong Sare of Threelogy rocked those colored suits by Boy Kastner Santos. Make-up artist maven Madge Lejano played a back-to-back role of dolling up the bride, doing overall outfit styling for the bunch, and being the bridesmaid dressed in Cecilio Abad. Both non-floral bouquets, the white one from Gideon Hermosa and the colorful one from Teddy Manuel, certainly were appropriate accessories.

Why a Vegas wedding?

Benz: It’s our 15th Year Wedding Anniversary–not a really big number, yet nothing to scoff at either. We wanted to celebrate ours but we didn’t want anything grand nor costly. We wanted it to be special and not let it slip by with only a simple dinner. We wanted something to remember it by, but we didn’t want a production. Just a simple renewal of vows without the drama, but super fun. A ‘Las Vegas Drive Thru Wedding’ for us was the perfect solution. We were traveling with friends so that’s it, they will be our witnesses and guests, it just so happened that they are also wedding suppliers so our photo, video, and makeup were all taken care of.

What’s the most memorable experience about this wedding?

Benz: It made me go down to the most basic. That a wedding should be one that would make the couple happy and giddy, one where you are yourself, one you can say is so you, just a more beautiful everyday you. So short pants it is for me–nothing can be more me than short pants!

What’s your favorite style detail?

Benz: I love the whole look, it came together and we all looked so buo (put-together). The color of one’s socks, tie, belt, bow, is all connected to each other. The look is so collected. The line from baduy (tacky) to porma (fashionable) was so thin and we are so glad Madge sewed it all together to make sure it is not going to go baduy (tacky).

What theme were you going for and why?

Benz: We wanted FUN. We wanted it to be like no other. We wanted to not care about any rules and just do as we please. We treated the event more as commemorating it than making new promises and getting married and being mushy all over again. More of a congratulatory kind of event. And more than a ceremony, it is actually a pictorial as well.

Thank you Abet and Benz for letting Bride and Breakfast be a part of showing people a celebration that is based on overflowing love, friendship, and life. It was so fun getting a glimpse of your very own wonderland!

The Grandeur of Glamour

Posted by Rachelle Que

Long-time sweethearts Carlo and celebrity stylist Kat tie the knot in a fête that is flush with sophisticated details and unbridled merriment. Old elegance and luxurious glamour was executed in tasteful restraint (I loved the almost-modest brooches on the bouquets and fascinators)! The rich berry hues and string of pearls on the entourage were gorgeous–they were the perfect supporting act to the bridal gown which was absolutely breathtaking!

I have always adored Jun Escario creations. With the exquisite bodice of intricate beading, and a soft tulle that delicately wraps around the neck and shoulders, this one is no exception! Just thinking about it makes my heart race! Photographer Nelwin Uy, notorious for catching beautiful candids, captured all the best laughs, tears, and stolen moments in Kat and Carlo’s special day.

Feast your eyes on this beautiful affair which, I’m pretty sure those in attendance will join in saying, is one to remember.

Festive Fairytales

Don’t you just love days that are filled with beauty and romance? So let’s start the week like we always do, with a good cup of coffee and a plate of wedding inspirations. Today’s gorgeous fête was shot by one of our favorite photographers, Francis Perez, Team Pat Dy. His love for the dreamy and beautiful is always reflected in his work. I know because you can see how John and Tine certainly were a glowing pair. And because we love details, you must simply check out Tine’s exquisite gown with cascading petals. Yes, fairytales and Mondays certainly go well together!

Captivating Classic Charm

Posted by Janna Simpao

In a time wherein personalities really reflect I do’s, I get to enjoy different creative affairs and appreciate diversity of themes. Yet, there is always an unexplainable beauty about the classic approach to weddings. Noel and Viv’s wedding is just that. It had the right amount of elegance, feminine details and soft elements. Let’s see… a gorgeous Pronovias gown (which photographs beautifully I might add!), those too-pretty-for-words pastel entourage gowns, plus an English garden vibe to the reception was enough to send me to a wedding dreamy daze.

And on an even more romantic note, our dashing groom, who wanted to surprise his bride with a feature in B&B wrote:

Dear Viv,

It’s been 3 months since our wedding but it still feels like yesterday. I wanted to surprise you with this because I remember how much we used to enjoy browsing Bride and Breakfast and getting inspiration during our wedding planning. Thank you for being such a perfect partner as we embark on this new adventure together. Love you!

Floral Fever

Posted by Janna Simpao

What a colorful year 2011 has been for Bride and Breakfast. It warms my heart thinking how we’ve met so many new friends through all these beautiful weddings. But before I go on with my emotional sentiments, I wanna make sure I end the year with some color. I was very touched with the letter the groom (YES, THE GROOM) wrote me in hopes that he could surprise his new wife. Here’s his letter and some flowery goodness.

Dearest Bride & Breakfast,

This letter is admittedly unorthodox in that it is the groom—and not the bride—who is writing to you. While I was heavily hands-on during the preparations, it was my lovely wife, Jennifer, who conceptualized everything from the theme—French-Bohemian or, as Jen terms it, “Pari(s)-Boheme”—to the smaller, oft-neglected details, such as the boutonniere. I still vividly recall her combing through innumerable websites and scrutinizing volumes of wedding magazines and similar literature to distill elements of what, at least for us, was a perfect wedding.

And I remember Jen reading through, and painstakingly studying, the content of what then was the Bride & Breakfast Blog—arguably modest in presentation and (online) presence, but unquestionably grand in vision.

I am writing to you now to not only congratulate you on your elevation to a full website, but also, and more important, to thank you for being such an immense blessing to us.

Further, this letter, assuming it is featured in your website, will not only be a delightful surprise to my wife (who is completely unaware of this letter), but also an opportunity to enable us, through you, to also aid couples (and even couples-to-be) in preparing for what readily is, and should be, the most memorable moment of their lives.
