The Rocker and the Rose

Posted by Janna Simpao

This may be the first time in Bride and Breakfast history that something like this will grace our pages. Allan and Joed’s wedding is the perfect balance of grunge and gorgeousness, of edge and elegance. Though most of you will probably take a minute to take in Allan’s spiked suit by Francis Libiran, remember that this look is not for the faint of heart. Meanwhile, Joed balances the scales with her timeless beauty, that oh-so sophisticated Pronovias gown from Mi Sueno Bridal Boutique. And just for an added twist, a creative origami bouquet by Vatel Manila. Speaking of being totally different, even the styling by Gideon Hermosa is not your everyday wedding decor, but it certainly is a true testament that the unconventional can really work. This affair is indeed one big style surprise. And we love it!

Cheers to this sweet and spiky celebration captured by J Lucas Reyes. Have a unique day ahead folks!

Cherishing the Charming

Spell PRETTY. If there was one fanciful fête that I could swoon over today, it would be Emerson and Janeth’s wedding. With a splash of the Tuscan country charm of Splendido, the lovely spring blooms by Manuel Francisco, the dainty and divine invitations by Wink, and that gorgeous Pronovias gown from Mi Sueño Bridal Boutique that screams simple elegance, you know that we’re serious about talking beautiful! Let Marlon Capuyan‘s photos spell how pretty this affair really was, because letters simply won’t do.

Marvelous and Modern

The urban city chic theme is definitely starting to become a favorite for modern brides. Manu and Nadine’s wedding make us love this look even more! The dashing couple certainly knows how to celebrate in style. And I have to say that we are totally loving the interiors of The Sulô Riviera Hotel. The clean and crisp look of whites set against glass, crystal chandeliers, and mirrors is just plain perfection. I’m giving this wedding a two thumbs up for painting the town beautiful!

Romantic Surrender

There is just something about the classic romantic that always makes our hearts melt and swoon. Mark and Cecille’s wedding in Shangri-La Mactan is making us dream of the sea, sand, and an epic love story. With the bride in a timeless Pronovias gown, hues of beige for the entourage dresses, and pastel pink for the floral decor, this affair is definitely pleasing to the eyes. We looooveeee the photos that Paopao Sanchez sent our way. It’s a good day to gush over pretty things.

Have a lovely day folks!

Behind the Scenes: Beauty and the Beloved

Posted by Janna Simpao

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of being part of one of the most gorgeous editorials I’ve ever seen. I wanted to show you a video that will reflect how everyone really worked hard to make this happen. These are artists coming together with one goal–to inspire brides (and our other readers)! Enjoy this behind-the-scenes video of the Beauty and the Beloved editorial.

Location: Angelfields Tagaytay. We could not have wished for a more gorgeous venue to do this shoot. This wide spread of greenery is just pure perfection.

Photography: J Lucas Reyes is one of the most passionate photographers I know. His approach is classy and timeless. I mean, come on right? I think my words will fail to fully reflect the work he’s done in this shoot. He gives his 101% to his subjects without compromising his own standards.

Videography: Cinemaworks has been on our radar from day one. These guys are not just packed with skill, they are funny and very easy to work with. Marvi was able to execute how we envisioned the trailer to be. It got just the same admiration and applause as the photos!

Flowers and Styling: Pat Pastelero of  Spruce Floral Designs was definitely one of the key suppliers that made this editorial the way it is. Her tasteful and lush approach on flowers DID NOT disappoint. The nice thing about Pat is that she never scrimps on her blooms. When you see her work, you know it’s nothing but the best! And did you see that swing? I think it was pure genius!

  • Maureen Disini: We adore this mauve lace dress she made. With an amazing fit and elegant style, we just fell in love with this dress.
  • Pronovias: I can’t express how blessed we were to have this RTW piece from Mi Sueño Bridal in the shoot. It was simply exquisite. There is always something beautiful about white lace.
  • Eric Delos Santos: That fully embellished dress is what dream wedding gowns are made of!

Suits: Just as the wedding gown of the bride is important, the suit is too. KC Mempin is one of the hidden gems of the suit industry. The fit is impeccable and the choice of fabric and style is really what we think suits should be.

Bowties: Bowties are pretty big now in weddings and Rummage PH provided us with the most style-savvy ones ever.

Paper and Invitations: Fozzy of the The Fozzy Book is a calligraphy superstar. She can make your heart skip a beat with her beautiful craft. Paper has never been more wonderful!

Cake: Peachy Juban is very passionate about her craft. She really made sure that the cake would reflect what this shoot is about. Pretty and yummy, huh?

Make-up: I love Ericka Regino‘s work. She’s one of the most skilled and down-to-earth makeup artists I know. Definitely a person you’d want to have on your big day.

Styling, Art Direction and Concept Development: Rachelle Que worked her magic in developing the concept I gave her. As a result, everyone knew exactly what we we’re going to create. We couldn’t have done this without her!

Beauty and the Beloved — A Garden Luxe Editorial Part 2

Beauty and the Beloved is about passion and restraint, power and gentleness, strength and vulnerability–very much what being in love feels like. We decided to show the elegant beauty of reds and blues, shades we don’t see so often in weddings. Sophisticated silverware and a sweet swing will sweep you off your feet and swoon your heart. So come journey with us on this path of romance, style, and everlasting entwinement.

My Beloved is mine and I am His. – Songs of Solomon 2:16

A little about the team: If you loved our heart-stirring opening video by Cinemaworks we featured yesterday, then you will surely fall in love with this shoot magnificently captured by J Lucas Reyes (total understatement)! It was our first time to see Angelfields and this venue was a dream come true! Of course, Pat Pastelero of Spruce Floral Designs was the genius behind the gorgeous and overwhelmingly elegant garden luxe setting, and those bouquets were screaming understated tastefulness! The invitations and other paper details were handcrafted by The Fozzy Book, and you know how big fans we are of her calligraphy. And my, oh my, I cannot begin raving about the suits by KC Leyco-Memphin–the fit was impeccable and the fabric was beyond amazing. The chic bowties from Rummage complemented them perfectly. The gowns were from local and international designers, Maureen Disini (mauve and lilac lace dress), Pronovias from Mi Sueno Bridal (white wedding gown) and Eric Delos Santos (silver embellished gown)–all of which were divine. Peachy Juban whipped up a classic charming cake which reflected elements from the shoot. While real-life sweethearts Cristina Garcia, who was dolled up by make-up magician Ericka Regino, and Kirk Long, were the most easy people to work with. Now with a bunch like this, we’re not surprised why this editorial has left us speechless.

Fashion Friday: Pronovias Bridal Fashion 2014

Posted by Rachelle Que

Okay, I cannot even begin to start about how genius the design team over at Pronovias is. This collection had me catching my breath, with my heart racing and my eyes wide dreaming–it is absolutely fantastic. Fashion meets elegance meets romance meets brilliant design over and over again! Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I hit the next button and almost cry in the beauty of it all. There is absolutely no question, this collection is the perfect week and month ender! It is deserving of all kinds of superlatives and figures of speech–save the best for last, end with a bang, what have you.

And since I cannot do any justice by mere words, jump in and see for yourself. Word of caution, this is fashion buffet at its finest so prepare your appetite as you proceed.

Oh wait, I almost forgot the best thing about this. All this can be available to you thanks to the lovely ladies over at Mi Sueño Bridal Boutique. If I were to get married in 2014, I’d know where to go! Ohmygoodness. If that is not happiness, I don’t know what is. TGIF, everyone!

The Fun and Fantastical

Posted by Rachelle Que

Welcoming our week is a slew of brilliant colors and fanciful details in a wedding that looks like a scene right out of a Fantastic Mr. Fox sequel! If you haven’t seen the movie, I suggest you do. Two good reasons: George Clooney and Meryl Streep! Just as the film was threaded together by dashing wit and a whimsical spirit, so was Pancho and Cha-Cha’s wedding sewn together. MangoRed did an awesome job of capturing the colorful character of the event, adding their own brand of quirk that is so uniquely them.

Sweet charming details were mixed with the playful company of little animals, with the spotlight on the polar bear boutonnière of the groom! I really love how the bride and groom had a hand at designing and putting together the details of wedding. How amazing were the little portrait giveaways? The bride drew and painted each one! It is such a creative way to share the love.

Now have a break with us and take a step back from manic as we present you with a marvelous Monday. Cheers!

A Day of Love, Life and Style

Posted by Janna Simpao

So you might be wondering what this post is all about. Well, a while back, I had this crazy idea to have this photo shoot with some friends–yup, you heard it right, friends! This may not be a real couple or a real entourage, but one thing is for sure, they put their game face on to inspire B&B’ers. Yes, these people have been such a support to me in keeping Bride and Breakfast running! So one day, we just decided to have fun and play dress-up. I called Jaja Samaniego three days before the shoot and she was in! Our look was simple, elegant and unassuming–a style we love seeing here at B&B.

With the amazing bridal gowns from Mi Sueño Bridal Boutique, the dapper suits from Merger, the bridesmaids skirts from Eric de los Santos, and our very own Vatel Manila bouquets, we certainly had a day of celebrating love, life and style!
