My Fair Ladies Editorial

Posted by Janna Simpao

Are we having the loveliest morning or what? If we made a list of our favorite things (and people) in this world, then we’d have a big check mark on today’s editorial. Gorgeous cakes… check! A beautiful garden location and awesome set styling… check!  Our faves from the wedding industry… a big check!

Let’s go through it shall we? We perfectly know that a Veluz gown can make a thousand jaws drop in a matter of seconds. Well… what if you get to see nine of them all at once? These dresses hail from the recently launched Veluz RTW bridal collection, and yes, we cannot stop swooning over them. The famous and lovely lady photog Jaja Samaniego and flower genius Dylan Gozum of Vatel Manila invited us to be part of this masterpiece shoot and we didn’t hesitate on our “yes”! Maybe that’s due to knowing everything these folks touch turns into awe-inspiring art. And because we just love, love, love the idea of inspiring our readers, we can’t wait for you to see it yourself. Oh yes… we’re having the loveliest morning indeed!

Weddings… It’s more fun in the Philippines

Posted by Janna Simpao

We’re probably one of the many people who truly take the campaign, Weddings… It’s more fun in the Philippines, with great honor. Being a blog that celebrates Philippine weddings, well… let’s just say I’ve been wowed many times over, to the moon and back. When we heard that one of our posts was actually mentioned in the official Facebook page of the Department of Tourism’s It’s more fun in the Philippines campaign, we practically did cartwheels! Yeah, it’s no Nobel prize award, but it’s certainly a great privilege for us to be a part of something that gives back to our nation. We’ve always been so proud of the Philippines, its people, and the talent that the country has.

And just like us, our friends in the industry prove that they too take much pride in the beauty of weddings celebrated in this country. The talented Bob Nicolas brilliantly crafted this must-watch video in support of the campaign. Certainly a great way to jumpstart our morning. Mabuhay!

Fashion Friday: Amsale Autumn/Winter 2013

Posted by Janna Simpao

For the classic bride, Amsale is one gold mine. The clean lines and sophisticated silhouettes are just a few things we love about this brand. Their bridesmaid dresses exude simple elegance and youthful taste, which never goes out of style. So yes, we must definitely make this collection a Fashion Friday feature, because ignoring it will be a total crime against wedding gowns.

Happy weekend folks!

Belle and Breakfast: Ellen

We’ve been seeing a lot of gorgeous debut shoots lately, and yes, we’re really loving them! Many of the concepts are so creative and beautiful that it made us think, “Hmmm… why not show them to the world?” So once in a while we will feature debut shoots (particularly those with a bit of a dreamy vibe) under the Belle and Breakfast category. They can even serve as concept inspirations for bridal portraits or engagement shoots–the young ladies definitely have some unique ideas up their sleeve!

For our regular readers, you have seen a fair share of Mark Cantalejo‘s wedding shoots in B&B. Today will be a bit different, but no less romantic. I am crazy in love with Ellen’s pre-debut shoot–the violin, the field, the dress, the horse… everything! It screams soft femininity and timeless beauty. This shoot certainly earned its place for being our first ever feature for Belle and Breakfast.

Fashion Friday: Jenny Packham A/W 2013

If you’re thinking about ending the week without our Fashion Friday, you must seriously reconsider. The drop dead divine dresses that you are about to lay your eyes on have enough enchanting elements to set us up for a good ever after. What I particularly love about Jenny Packham is her ability to make an understated-cut dress look lusciously luxurious. Now who wouldn’t feel like a billion bucks in these beauties?

Fashion Friday: Reem Acra Autumn/Winter 2013

I just love capping the week with dresses that make my heart skip a beat. Ever since I started adding Fashion Friday as a regular portion of Bride and Breakfast, it has never failed to make me see how bridal gowns get prettier by the year. Reem Acra has certainly been one of our favorites here because her designs are simply divine. With gorgeousness like this, our day is as romantic as it can be.

Hippie Heaven

One thing I totally love is an outdoor photo shoot. There’s just something about the sunlight and a bunch of greenery that make pictures extra romantic. Starkey and May’s hippie engagement shoot is hippie heaven. Honestly, the tricky thing with engagement shoots is really for the couple to connect and be the characters they wear. These two perfectly became the starstruck lovers in this enchanted setting, so yes, we love love love it! This set certainly exuded the surreal vibe that makes it totally a-ok in our book.

Fashion Friday: Marchesa Bridal Collection 2013

Posted by Janna Simpao

Marchesa’s 2013 Bridal Collection proves why we have to have Fashion Friday here at Bride and Breakfast. It’s a whimsical collection for the modern bride, and it’s a crime not to share it to the world. Yes, oh yes, these beauties made my day. I’m starting with my favorite in the bunch, the sheath dress with the encrusted neckline. Elegant, just elegant!

Lovely weekend folks!

Fashion Friday: Elie by Elie Saab 2013

It’s that wonderful time of the week when we get to daydream about exquisite fabrics and breathtaking details. A few months back, many of you swooned over the Elie Saab bride we featured here in B&B. Well, there’s more reason for swooning today, missy! The Elie by Elie Saab 2013 collection is so pretty that I spent most of my morning just admiring the craftsmanship and material–the lace applique is beyond gorgeous! Dramatic but in a very subtle and elegant way, I am seriously wishing for a gown do-over now. Now who won’t feel like a princess in these beauties?

If you’re looking for a local boutique that you can order Elie by Elie Saab gowns from, you can set an appointment with Mi Sueño Bridal Boutique.
