My Fair Ladies Editorial

Posted by Janna Simpao

Are we having the loveliest morning or what? If we made a list of our favorite things (and people) in this world, then we’d have a big check mark on today’s editorial. Gorgeous cakes… check! A beautiful garden location and awesome set styling… check!  Our faves from the wedding industry… a big check!

Let’s go through it shall we? We perfectly know that a Veluz gown can make a thousand jaws drop in a matter of seconds. Well… what if you get to see nine of them all at once? These dresses hail from the recently launched Veluz RTW bridal collection, and yes, we cannot stop swooning over them. The famous and lovely lady photog Jaja Samaniego and flower genius Dylan Gozum of Vatel Manila invited us to be part of this masterpiece shoot and we didn’t hesitate on our “yes”! Maybe that’s due to knowing everything these folks touch turns into awe-inspiring art. And because we just love, love, love the idea of inspiring our readers, we can’t wait for you to see it yourself. Oh yes… we’re having the loveliest morning indeed!

Fashion Friday: Theia White Bridal Spring 2014

Posted by Rachelle Que

There are so many kinds of bridal gowns with different details, silhouettes, and fabric that sometimes it gets so overwhelming! It’s a good kind of dilemma though, as a bride-to-be chooses a gown that she will walk down the aisle in. Key is to know what kind of bride you are and to know what works for your body type! Theia White’s 2014 collection shows clean lines and ornate details that I can imagine on a very sophisticated bride. All the details–whether volume, texture, or embellishment–are executed in understated elegance. It’s just the kind of restraint that I love seeing especially in fully beaded gowns! Classy without being too much.

Browse through this collection and mull over the designs. Get ideas about the kind of bride you are! Among my favorites are: the femininely modest lace dress, a textured gown with a classic Sabrina neckline, a fully sequined slip, an ombré dress with cascading scalloped ruffles, and a textured gown with kaftan-like sleeves that almost resembles our Filipiniana terno!

Happy fashion Friday to all the style vultures out there!

Love’s Morning Elegance

Posted by Rachelle Que

There is something about classics that hold so much beauty and elegance. Marco and Vanni’s wedding is a wonderful example of how subtlety works. The details are a seamless marriage of timeless and modern–seen in the groom’s dapper pairing of blue and khaki, and the bride’s gorgeous peplum serpentina lace gown. I also found the mixing of colors so sophisticated! Whites with deep rich blues and violets are perfectly unassuming and tasteful. I love the way Nez Cruz captured moments bubbling with raw happiness and candor. What a joyous occasion to just enjoy the company of family and friends!

Jump in and delight in the warmth of this wedding–no pretentions, just straight-to-the-point love celebrated in style.

Sea and Serendipity

Posted by Rachelle Que

Asya Premier Suites has a special place in my heart because I witnessed the engagement of two of my good friends there (yes, we cried)! So when I saw that this SDE of Jason Magbanua was a ceremony held on the same beach front, my heart skipped a beat. I already knew it was going to be beautiful! My gut was right–I loved the pretty little details like the bridesmaids’ dainty hair wreaths and the bride’s ornate hair ornament. I am totally taken by the laid back atmosphere of this wedding, from the modestly adorned canopy to the easy chemistry of the bride and groom–it’s all wistfully wonderful.

The thing about this wedding is that they didn’t have a photographer to capture the events. Everything was documented purely in film. Be still my heart! As much as I’d want to see more of the details in stills, I am quite happy seeing it through Jason’s eyes. This has to be the wedding that just keeps you wanting more! I say it again, it is all wistfully wonderful.

Keep a close eye on the bride’s wedding gown, I love the movement of the light lace and the subtle sexiness of the boned corset!

Here’s one to get your heart beating a little faster this Monday.

Fashion Friday: Kenneth Pool Bridal Spring 2014

Posted by Rachelle Que

We’re at that time of week again when we celebrate the women in us and gush over fabulous wedding gowns. All in poise and moderation, of course. Today we are loving Kenneth Pool’s Bridal Spring 2014 collection! It’s a collection that flaunts the curves and flatters the feminine silhouette. The sweetheart corset came in different embellishments and drapings, all of them wonderfully and intricately crafted. We are absolutely crazy over this set–it’s as sexy as it is elegant!

Sit tight and delight over these gorgeous pieces. And remember, it’s okay to go stare!

Fashion Friday: Rivini Bridal Spring 2014

Posted by Rachelle Que

There’s a different kind of appeal in a paradox. I guess this explains why I’ve always been drawn to the sexiness seen in androgynous styles–I like the subtlety and the unexpected allure in its aesthetic. Rivini Bridal Spring 2014 brings a different and equally appealing paradox: it’s luxuriously laid back. The silhouettes are deliciously relaxed while the details on fabric are breathtakingly opulent. It’s simply the kind of balance in contradictions I adore!

I don’t know about you, but I think this collection has Effortlessly Chic Bride-chilla written all over it.

A Love for Inspiration

Posted by Rachelle Que

Hello lovelies! Here at Bride and Breakfast we are very fortunate to get overwhelming support from websites like Loverly. This month, a few of our posts have been featured on their roundups and we are very proud to be heralding the best of our local suppliers! The bouquet we have been gushing over in this hawaiian wedding photographed by MangoRed made it to a beach wedding article that gives brides tips about how to incorporate seaside elements without being too cliché. Another photo by Mark Cantalejo from a beautiful California wedding also made the cut in an article that presents different ideas for flower girl bouquets. And of course, there are those magnificent Fashion Friday gowns! An Elie Saab beauty and a Jesus Peiro piece also made appearances in articles about bridal gowns. We love the gentle push towards unconventional bridal gowns wherein we see and embrace color, print, and unique details! Speaking of details, we were also thrilled about the spotlight on bridal gowns with high necklines–whether with intricate lace, almost-invisible soft tulle, or luxurious ruffles, they were all breathtaking (pun intended)!

We are elated that our posts have been impacting and helping many readers like you who are passionate about beauty and style! And you can be sure that we will be serving many more of these inspiring ideas in days to come!

Perfectly Smitten

Posted by Rachelle Que

One of the best things about weddings is that  we can look like a million bucks. Every groom and bride become the most ravishing in the room, exuding a fresh radiance of love. When we envision our big day, everything must be beautiful. Nothing less than this was true in the wedding day of Carlos and Kelly. Carlos no doubt looked debonaire in his sleek three-piece suit, and Kelly, in a Joey Samson was a vision to behold! A gorgeous couple plus Pat Dy (who we can always count on capturing breathtaking portraits)? That’s a pretty good formula. Simple and sweet is today’s treat.
