The Inspire Initiative Benefit BBQ–Raising Relief for Yolanda

In 2013, one of the most devastating storms hit the Philippines–Haiyan or Yolanda. It affected thousands of families and destroyed towns and cities in the Visayas. The country was mourning.

We partnered with The Inspire Initiative group, and decided to work together in raising help from the Philippine wedding industry (which we were all part of). Honestly, it was one of the most moving things to see. Numerous wedding suppliers in their respective fields poured out their talent and resources to give generously. Thus, we were able to do three different projects under this campaign: The Inspire Initiative Shoot Marathon, The Inspire Initiative Sale and The Inspire Initiative Benefit BBQ, which I will be showing you today.

A family-style BBQ was a time for everyone to gather and be united with one heart and one desire–to bless others as we have been blessed, to be of help to our countrymen who suffered a painful loss, and to spend time with our fellow wedding suppliers as well.

There was an amazing team of vendors who made the BBQ happen–see our list at the end of the post. These people went over and beyond to give their talents and resources and we really can’t thank them enough. Those who attended contributed to the cause as well since ALL TICKET SALES WENT TO CHARITY. This post came a year late, we know, but it still serves as reminder to all of us that most areas hit by this storm are still on the hard road to recovery. Help can still go a long way today.

This amount showed the proceeds from The Inspire Initiative Shoot Marathon which we we’re able to award to Unicef during the BBQ.

Happy Beginnings

Weddings are all about celebrating togetherness, love, and people! I truly enjoy seeing weddings that are laid-back and intimate, and show elements of what the couple enjoy together. JP and Loni’s special day is a picture of lighthearted merriment with pretty bouquets, a beautiful lace-sleeved gown, groomsmen in suits and boxers, and a ferris wheel. Doesn’t it just sound like a day to remember? I’m pretty sure it was for all those present!

Tales of Sophistication and Romance

There is perhaps no better pairing than the mix of modern treatment and classic details. John and Melissa’s wedding was a breath of fresh air with the beautiful elements of lace, pearls, and crystals. It was a marvelous affair of elegance and softness married in sophisticated styling. The pigeonholes with the guests’ seat cards were a nice touch, and the little notes inside them even sweeter. I would’ve loved opening an envelope with my name and seat number! Maybe just as much as I would’ve enjoyed writing a love note to hang on the little plant.

I really just pored over and adored every detail, from the vintage-chic frames to the pretty blooms and the stylish typography (designed by Fozzy of The Fozzy Book, who also did B&B’s logo!)–everything was utterly romantic and classy. Revel in the images below–a perfectly captured, framed, and lit photo story by Jeff and Lisa Photography–and bask in the wonderful, wonderful feeling of enduring love and style.

Timeless Tale of True Love

I must admit, I am a total sucker for garden weddings. There’s just something about all the nature surrounding a sweet solemn ceremony that makes the whole experience a lot more surreal. Ivan and Kyla’s affair was everything romantic and beautiful. Set against a gorgeous lush backdrop of greenery, their simple yet exquisitely elegant affair is truly a timeless testimony of love, style and beauty.
