My Fair Ladies Editorial

Posted by Janna Simpao

Are we having the loveliest morning or what? If we made a list of our favorite things (and people) in this world, then we’d have a big check mark on today’s editorial. Gorgeous cakes… check! A beautiful garden location and awesome set styling… check!  Our faves from the wedding industry… a big check!

Let’s go through it shall we? We perfectly know that a Veluz gown can make a thousand jaws drop in a matter of seconds. Well… what if you get to see nine of them all at once? These dresses hail from the recently launched Veluz RTW bridal collection, and yes, we cannot stop swooning over them. The famous and lovely lady photog Jaja Samaniego and flower genius Dylan Gozum of Vatel Manila invited us to be part of this masterpiece shoot and we didn’t hesitate on our “yes”! Maybe that’s due to knowing everything these folks touch turns into awe-inspiring art. And because we just love, love, love the idea of inspiring our readers, we can’t wait for you to see it yourself. Oh yes… we’re having the loveliest morning indeed!

Love’s Morning Elegance

Posted by Rachelle Que

There is something about classics that hold so much beauty and elegance. Marco and Vanni’s wedding is a wonderful example of how subtlety works. The details are a seamless marriage of timeless and modern–seen in the groom’s dapper pairing of blue and khaki, and the bride’s gorgeous peplum serpentina lace gown. I also found the mixing of colors so sophisticated! Whites with deep rich blues and violets are perfectly unassuming and tasteful. I love the way Nez Cruz captured moments bubbling with raw happiness and candor. What a joyous occasion to just enjoy the company of family and friends!

Jump in and delight in the warmth of this wedding–no pretentions, just straight-to-the-point love celebrated in style.

Amazing Aristocratic Affair

Posted by Janna Simpao

Pinch me, I must be dreaming! When Oly of Metrophoto sent this our way, I almost fainted. Chris and Amanda’s wedding is all about whimsical elegance. A stately garden affair that seems to have been meticulously prepared for a prince and her princess, the details were all divine. I wasn’t surprised since the vendors behind this fairytale wedding are all so talented. Take for example that wedding gown! Veluz has once again shown such impeccable style and creativity. Then there’s the bouquet by Vatel Manila which was just breathtaking. And oh my, the cake done by Peachy Juban was just brilliant don’t you think? There’s just too many things we love about this affair! A regal and almost aristocratic ambiance sets the mood of inspiring romance. So come on board folks, kick back and enjoy the view.

A Gorgeous Garden Gala

Posted by Rachelle Que

We consider it such a joy to share the works of talented Filipino suppliers, whether based here in Manila or abroad. That said, we are very happy and honored that Pinoy photographers overseas also send some lovely wedding goodness our way!

Greeting us this Tuesday morning is a beautiful garden wedding from Orange County, photographed by Wai Reyes. It was fabulously tinted by a cocktail of bright colors in the entourage ensembles and the bouquets, rich greens complemented by varying shades of violet, magenta, and lilac. And what about that scrumptious plate of banana split in lieu of the traditional wedding cake? How delightfully cheeky and playful! Set in a sunshiny day in breathtaking Laguna Cliffs, it was indeed a joyous affair spiced up by the lively spirits of the couple and guests. It made me wish I were also there to enjoy the view and the festivities!

Let’s brighten up our day with a fresh gulp of berry hues and lush greens, shall we?

The Fun and Fantastical

Posted by Rachelle Que

Welcoming our week is a slew of brilliant colors and fanciful details in a wedding that looks like a scene right out of a Fantastic Mr. Fox sequel! If you haven’t seen the movie, I suggest you do. Two good reasons: George Clooney and Meryl Streep! Just as the film was threaded together by dashing wit and a whimsical spirit, so was Pancho and Cha-Cha’s wedding sewn together. MangoRed did an awesome job of capturing the colorful character of the event, adding their own brand of quirk that is so uniquely them.

Sweet charming details were mixed with the playful company of little animals, with the spotlight on the polar bear boutonnière of the groom! I really love how the bride and groom had a hand at designing and putting together the details of wedding. How amazing were the little portrait giveaways? The bride drew and painted each one! It is such a creative way to share the love.

Now have a break with us and take a step back from manic as we present you with a marvelous Monday. Cheers!

An Enchanted Garden Affair

Posted by Rachelle Que

What better way to greet our midweek than with an array of dreamy photos from J Lucas Reyes! He does it again, capturing a softness in the sunlight for a just-the-right-amount-of-sunnyness feel in the photos. Gerard and Vanessa’s wedding was a picture-perfect afternoon with details of wood endearingly juxtaposed to the lush green setting. I also absolutely adored the floral arrangements of Vatel Manila–it did a stunning job of pulling together a look of country charm and sophistication. The pops of yellows, peaches, and blush served such a refreshing gulp of greenery goodness! Altogether, everything looked magical and right out of a storybook.

Step into these pages and delight in a little whimsy this sunny Wednesday.

The Charm of the Classic

Posted by Janna Simpao

We pretty much see loads of themed weddings here and there, but somehow there is still that distinct and captivating feel when it comes to the classic luxe affair. Tim and Kina’s big day was just that. To begin with, the bride was pleasingly graceful in her Rosa Clara dress–I think it was very chic, youthful, at the same time exquisitely regal. We’re head over heels in love with the all the wedding details that were nothing short of elegant. But I must admit, being a fan a beautiful flower girl dresses, what captivated me the most were their outfits–dainty, simple and totally age-appropriate. C’mon! They are so darn adorable right?

So yeah, everything screamed charm and romance–soft hues and beautiful flowers enveloped the evening, while the candelabras and chandeliers added that stately and stylish kick. Pure perfection!

Our praises go out to Francis Perez who did an amazing job with the photos! And if you love his work, we actually have a mind-blowing giveaway from him.

For now, our Thursday just got better!

Prints, Patterns, and Pretties

Posted by Janna Simpao

Today’s ravishing and retro fête is definitely highlighting the fun in funky! Bong and Rossy’s wedding is exploding with layers of prints, patterns and pretties. I’d have to say, the retro outfits were perfectly set against the wonderfully styled decor by Heim Interiors in collaboration with Heima Store. I can’t get over how many quirky details this wedding has, from the chevron decals on the car, to suede and sparkling footwear, and that too-gorgeous-that-I-want-to-faint floral cake. I actually might write a novel if I delved into every deet that I like. Thankfully we have such great photos–Paolo Feliciano did a superb job capturing the charmingly candid moments as well as all the colorful elements of this affair.

A Beautiful Boho-Vintage Bash

Posted by Janna Simpao

Ok, here’s our game plan for the year. Fall in love with beautiful details, drool over gorgeous affairs, and bask in all things romantic. Sounds good, right? And, with such an ambitious task, we simply must get started.

Every year we try to kick off  the first days of January with inspiring affairs that will make your eyes sparkle with delight. Imagine my excitement when Marlon of Marlon Capuyan Photography sent me his very own wedding! Though fairly new in the industry, I am beginning to be a big fan of Marlon’s work. And I must say how impressed I am with the suppliers that Cebu is producing–even the styling of this wedding is awesome!

Marlon and Mildred’s big day was overflowing with creative D.I.Y.’s, too-cute-for-words handmade goodies, and boho vintage elements. With a spring garden vibe surrounding the whole celebration, I found myself feeling giddy all over (I am such a sucker for flowery prettiness).

If this is a peek of how our year in Bride and Breakfast will be like, then we’re in for an amazing 2013.
