Sealed at Sea

Posted by Rachelle Que

I think every hopeless romantic secretly dreams of running away with their beloved, going off to an adventure for two. Some gutsy and passionate couples make this a reality by flying off to a secluded beach and getting married on an island sans the guests! I love the dreamy and laid back affair that envelopes Mikhail and Marina’s first step to a life together. The discreet and dainty details are just amazing! Yup, it’s the small elements that make this two-some affair brilliantly styled. Sigh! They pretty much had us at the recurring yet fresh sail boat deets–notice the miniature prop and the groom’s shirt? And the rings! You have to see those adorable rings! An elopement is never without a tinge of excitement, a sense of adventure, a heart-pounding feeling of conquering the world together–just the two of you, one day at a time.

These photos by Rock Paper Scissors paint a celebration that is soft and sweet, romantic, and almost surreal. Light hues with pops of red give a feel of warm summer romance. I absolutely adore the modest veil attached to a pretty floral headpiece!

Come away with us and get swept off your feet in this whirlwind of love, sea, and friendship.

Bright Beginnings

Posted by Rachelle Que

Every wedding is a little girl’s dream come true. They dream of their glamorous gowns, long flowing hair, maids in waiting, gorgeous shoes, and most of all… little girls dream of their prince. Stephanie and Jonathan’s wedding is nothing short of magical. It has all the happily-ever-after elements, and so much more! Stephanie looked absolutely arresting in a flowy gown by Rajo Laurel, made only more spectacular by the smile she wore throughout the day. I was also smitten with the cocktail of colors, textures, and prints that her friends wore to the wedding–all of them perfectly complementing the bride and the joyous occasion! And what about those adorable little ones? Too dashing in their khaki suits and colored ties! I find it safe to assume that MangoRed did not have a difficult time capturing precious moments that were painted with love, bliss, and elegance.

It shows that every single detail in this wedding exudes light and happiness–much like the smiles shared between the happy couple themselves (and their guests)! Ahhh, there’s nothing we love more than a love and joy so palpable, it jumps off the photos and into the hearts of its beholder.

We’re right in the heart and heat of summer! Let’s welcome May and plunge into this affair brimming with everything beautiful!

Charmed by Colonial Chic

Posted by Janna Simpao

I am so pumped to get our week of oh-so-lovely affairs started. First up this beautiful Monday morn is Grant and Vanessa’s colonial chic wedding. I have been swooning over this celebration ever since photographer Jay Jay Lucas of Chestknots Studios showed me some teasers–I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on the official set. And today’s THE day folks! We love, love, LOVE everything about this stylishly-laid back celebration. And we were even more thrilled to find out the bride, Vanessa Heussaff did most of the planning and crafting herself (read about it below)! She mentions her plans of putting up her own wedding business, and boy do we think she has a bright future ahead of her. Because truth be told, simple and chic is easier said than done–the key really is to know when to go all out and when to hold back. I’d have to say this pretty party was spot on! From the color palette to the chic attire, and of course the breathtaking venue… yup, this wedding just made my day!

A lovely Monday to all!

From the Bride:

I am just happy to say that I was lucky to marry my first love. Grant was my first real love/boyfriend–we met when we were 16, dated for seven years, grew apart for about seven years (while still keeping in touch and seeing each other during Christmas in Manila). I moved to Singapore in January 2012, we moved in together in March 2012, he proposed in August 2012 and we were civilly married in Singapore on December 21, 2012. The ceremony was then held on March 30, 2013.

We were looking for a colonial chic beach wedding. We chose Galle in Sri Lanka, as it was a destination none of our guests have been to before. We wanted them to experience discovering a new country and culture during our wedding.

We wanted a wedding that was relaxed, easygoing, and intimate. We were showered with love and great spirits. For the details, I really got involved and made everything myself, from the hangers for the entourage, the boutonnieres for the boys (using San Miguel beer caps, as their preferred choice of drink during high school), and the photo station props.

I also wanted this to be very personal, therefore the invites, the table names, and the gift bag drawings are all my sketches. I am hoping to open a wedding planning business with a good friend of mine, Carmen, in the near future, and I used my wedding as our first project and only had a coordinator on location to help.

A Lifetime’s Adventure

Posted by Rachelle Que

Today’s feature is no ordinary wedding. It is beautiful with handmade details flown in from Russia, where the couple is from, and flush with graceful simplicity. Like most features of late, it is a beach wedding. But one vital element is starkly different from all other weddings we’ve seen–the guest list. Or in this case, the lack thereof!

I’ve always been infatuated with the idea of elopement. The thought of taking on the unknown with your one companion, your lifelong go-to person, has been both thrilling and romantic! Such was the wedding of Muslim and Ekaterina on the shores of Boracay. Surely our most prized seaside is an adventure right out of a tropical fairy tale to this couple native to Russia!

Jeff and Lisa of Jeff and Lisa Photography became privy to the couple’s special day, capturing moments from their wedding ceremony and their engagement session held a day prior. It is so refreshing to see just two people, content with each other’s company, being the other’s helping hand. Isn’t this a perfect picture of the days to come–a future being built and lived together? Needless to say I was moved to tears. I didn’t even need to hear the vows, the pictures said it all.

“Oh darling, let’s be adventurers.”

Beach, Blue, and Beautiful

Posted by Rachelle Que

One of the most beautiful things about a beach wedding is that you can really let your hair down and enjoy the carefree atmosphere of the festivities. Dennis and Porlleak’s wedding was such an affair–you can almost hear the laughter of the guests, the rushing of waves to the shore, and the happy beat of  the day’s soundtrack. Nelwin Uy did a wonderful job capturing the moments and elements of this happy affair.

I am blissfully captivated by the details of this wedding. All the white blooms were a breath of fresh air and I truly adored the elegant and sleek silhouette of the bridal gown–what a sexy number!

The temperatures are rising and steadily so. This is the kind of heat that’s good for some quality beach time and I’m determined to get it even if only by way of today’s post. Join me?

Timeless Romance

Posted by Rachelle Que

Nothing makes my heart happier than a love that not only endures time, but thrives even in the mundane and routine of everyday. It was a pristine day on the shores of Balabag when Boracay-based wedding coordinator Amanda Tirol celebrated her anniversary with husband Bong in a surprise anniversary wedding.

I love the light and laidback details that dreamily envelop this beach fête. An airy sheer skirt, a sequin-sprinkled mini dress, a Star Wars timepiece, and an event colored with an affectionate and familiar love.

Prepare your hearts for an affair that is a testament to love that lasts!

A Sun-kissed Seaside Affair

Posted by Rachelle Que

Every once in a while I come across a wedding that is so beautiful it makes me tear up. Not out of sentimentality, nor out of fondness for the couple (being that I don’t usually know them personally), but simply out of sheer beauty. What can I say? My heart jumps at the sight of all things exquisite and aesthetically pleasing.

I had to catch my breath many, many times while poring over JR and Cecille’s photos. MangoRed did wonderfully catching the atmosphere of warm sunshine, light sea breeze, and sparkling wedding-day energy. I must say I have developed quite an attachment to the church where they held the ceremony–her with the high ceiling and white columns. A sight nothing short of majestic!

Now, I must get back to marveling at this spectacular Honolulu soiree. There’s a hypnotizing bouquet of fresh blooms waiting to be adored. Care to join me?

Coral Chic Charm

Posted by Janna Simpao

Pinch me, I must be dreaming. Mariano and Celina’s modern and chic Boracay wedding has left me grasping for the perfect words to describe it. But so far, all I’ve come up with is a long “wow” accompanied by some drooling over her gorgeous Vera Wang dress. Since Nelwin Uy is a regular here in B&B, we’re pretty much used to the amazing photos he takes. This affair, however, takes wedding inspiration to a whole new level. Aside from the fact that we’re pretty smitten by the well-executed irony that the bride went for an enchanting nude-colored gown while her entourage was elegantly dressed in white, we are also blown away by the elegant peach and coral setting did by Spruce Floral Designs. I think I’m in love, yes… I think I am in love.

Surreal Seaside Soiree

Posted by Janna Simpao

There’s something about the smell of the beach, the sound of the waves, and the sweetness of the sunshine that make beach weddings just too darn amazing! Kyle and Regina’s gorgeous destination wedding is beautiful beyond words. Dainty and adorable, this simple yet endearing affair is enough to make us have Dorothy’s red pumps and click our heels away to Maldives. This is also the first wedding we’re featuring that was captured by the ever so talented team of Mayad Photography. With their signature mark of romantic dreaminess, we’re surely left wanting more.
