Here’s the honest truth, I’ve been a big fan of Marlon Capuyan ever since I discovered some of his work as I was browsing through wedding websites. And from day one he has not failed to deliver. We can’t get enough of the bright-as-the-sun affairs that he shares with B&B. And yes, today we have a sweet treat again because Brad and Lois’ beach bash is everything easy and effortless. We need more than 10 fingers to enumerate why this wedding is totally up our alley. Then again, we know that our faithful readers are very capable of spotting a good thing when they see it. A gorgeous bride, a gorgeous cake, and pretty much a gorgeous everything. It’s a happy, happy Tuesday for you and me!
Mondays–most people hate it cause it means bye-bye to the weekend. But here at B&B our Mondays are filled with a lot of excitement cause it is the gateway to a whole week of beautiful weddings and things. Today we usher in the week with a dose of dreaminess as we swoon over a set that Cherryblocks has sent our way. We’re big fans of Chuck of Cherryblocks cause he always manages to capture an affair’s vibrance and energy–and that’s exactly why we fell in love with this set. Anthony and Cesca celebrated a day filled with love and style. We totally think the spring-tone bridesmaids dresses exuded sweet youthfulness and chic charm. And everything else? Simply elegant.
Are we gonna have a sweet week or what? Just a few days ago, we wrote about the on-site video of Richard Poon and Maricar Reyes. We finally got hold of the photo slideshow from the famous photographer Lito Sy. And we simply can’t get enough of this romantic affair.
I am at a loss for words. Even as I have already watched the wedding video of Richard Poon and Maricar Reyes for the fifth time, I still feel butterflies in my stomach and an overwhelming outpour of joy in my heart. Not because these two are famous Philippine celebrities, or the fact that Mayad videos have a way of making you feel you are part of the story, or even the undeniable fact that Maricar was a breathtaking vision in that embellished masterpiece by Francis Libiran (although it is officially in my list of top 3 wedding gowns of the year!). Yes, these things played a big part in making this wedding beautiful, very beautiful in fact. But the thing the wows me the most is their love story. A testimony of chivalry, selflessness, and honor–Richard Poon, you’re the man! A love story written and orchestrated by God, a story of redeeming and unconditional love. Sealed with a first kiss that begins forever.
I am at a loss for words… and frankly, I don’t mind it.
Among all the collections I’ve seen this past year, I’d have to say Angel Sanchez‘ Spring 2014 is certainly a breath of fresh air (and an instant favorite of mine!). Combining a youthful take on fabric manipulation plus the softness of lace, dainty applique and the perfect balance of flounce, these dresses will leave you holding your breath and envisioning a chance to slip into one of them. Surprisingly, the unconventional cuts and pleasant innovations of the traditional silhouettes exude timeless elegance, romance and dreaminess. I think I just found the perfect dress should I ever decide to renew my vows. What’s your pick?
Green is probably one of the most difficult wedding colors to pull off. But when you find that perfect blend of this hue, the possibilities for styling is limitless. Exuding freshness and vibrance, Eikel and Kristine’s wedding at the gorgeous The Mango Farm has certainly gotten us into a happy mood. It’s just our luck that Jaja Samaniego captures weddings brilliantly. So today, we get to drool over her photos. With a balanced mix of blacks, whites, and greens, the affair was oozing with understated loveliness. And by golly gee! The details were splendid! Among my favorites were the tasteful bouquet and ceremony set-up by Vatel Manila, the elegant tropical boutonnières by {etc} Handmade Goodness, and of course the classy chic reception styling of K by Cunanan Catering.
If you loved the first set of Andy and Tina’s engagement shoot, then you better be prepared to be swooned by this new set of photos. We are simply going bonkers over how pretty the styling is. Something Splendid has been wowing us this past year and we simply adore their work. Remember darlings, no matter how great your stylist is, you have to make sure your photographer is just as good. And on that note, let me just say that Kent Lazarraga is definitely becoming a B&B fave. We just love, love, love how colors come to life in all his photos. What an amazing way to start our week. Yup, I so love my job!
Are we having the loveliest morning or what? If we made a list of our favorite things (and people) in this world, then we’d have a big check mark on today’s editorial. Gorgeous cakes… check! A beautiful garden location and awesome set styling… check! Our faves from the wedding industry… a big check!
Let’s go through it shall we? We perfectly know that a Veluz gown can make a thousand jaws drop in a matter of seconds. Well… what if you get to see nine of them all at once? These dresses hail from the recently launched Veluz RTW bridal collection, and yes, we cannot stop swooning over them. The famous and lovely lady photog Jaja Samaniego and flower genius Dylan Gozum of Vatel Manila invited us to be part of this masterpiece shoot and we didn’t hesitate on our “yes”! Maybe that’s due to knowing everything these folks touch turns into awe-inspiring art. And because we just love, love, love the idea of inspiring our readers, we can’t wait for you to see it yourself. Oh yes… we’re having the loveliest morning indeed!
We don’t have to say much. Yes, we know you are just dying to click that play button if you haven’t already. We can’t blame you, we’re so, so, so excited to see the official photos of this wedding, but for today, this rockin’ fun video is enough to satisfy our craving for beautiful. Mayad Studios… you did it again.
I am so pumped to get our week of oh-so-lovely affairs started. First up this beautiful Monday morn is Grant and Vanessa’s colonial chic wedding. I have been swooning over this celebration ever since photographer Jay Jay Lucas of Chestknots Studios showed me some teasers–I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on the official set. And today’s THE day folks! We love, love, LOVE everything about this stylishly-laid back celebration. And we were even more thrilled to find out the bride, Vanessa Heussaff did most of the planning and crafting herself (read about it below)! She mentions her plans of putting up her own wedding business, and boy do we think she has a bright future ahead of her. Because truth be told, simple and chic is easier said than done–the key really is to know when to go all out and when to hold back. I’d have to say this pretty party was spot on! From the color palette to the chic attire, and of course the breathtaking venue… yup, this wedding just made my day!
A lovely Monday to all!
From the Bride:
I am just happy to say that I was lucky to marry my first love. Grant was my first real love/boyfriend–we met when we were 16, dated for seven years, grew apart for about seven years (while still keeping in touch and seeing each other during Christmas in Manila). I moved to Singapore in January 2012, we moved in together in March 2012, he proposed in August 2012 and we were civilly married in Singapore on December 21, 2012. The ceremony was then held on March 30, 2013.
We were looking for a colonial chic beach wedding. We chose Galle in Sri Lanka, as it was a destination none of our guests have been to before. We wanted them to experience discovering a new country and culture during our wedding.
We wanted a wedding that was relaxed, easygoing, and intimate. We were showered with love and great spirits. For the details, I really got involved and made everything myself, from the hangers for the entourage, the boutonnieres for the boys (using San Miguel beer caps, as their preferred choice of drink during high school), and the photo station props.
I also wanted this to be very personal, therefore the invites, the table names, and the gift bag drawings are all my sketches. I am hoping to open a wedding planning business with a good friend of mine, Carmen, in the near future, and I used my wedding as our first project and only had a coordinator on location to help.
