What To Do With Your Wedding Dress After Your Wedding Day

Ah, the wedding dress! We spend so much time looking for the dress, making sure it’s absolutely perfect, and paying quite a large amount for it. But what happens after the service, the reception, and the dancing? What are you going to do with your dress? If you haven’t made up your mind yet, don’t worry. We’re bringing you some options! Here are some things you can do with your wedding dress after your wedding day.

1. You can turn it into another dress. This is totally possible! And if you're not planning on wearing your dress again, this is one option that'll make your dress worth it for the money that you paid (might as well get as much wear from it, right?). You can dye or paint it another color, cut it, and make some alterations--it'll be like it's brand new!

2. You can wear it again. Who says you can't wear your wedding dress again? Be creative, and pair your dress with a cute Polo shirt or a denim jacket and go out for a night on a town!

3. You can repurpose it into something completely different. If you're a D.I.Y. kind of person, you'll see that there's a world of possibilities when it comes to repurposing your dress. You can turn your dress into some lingerie, scarves, necklaces, clutches, pillows, blankets, quilts, and even a christening gown for your child! The possibilities are endless--you can even turn it into home decor!

You can also preserve it and…

5. Save it for your future daughter or daughter-in-law. Who knows? Maybe your daughter or daughter-in-law will want to wear your dress on her wedding day. And if she'd rather not, you can always turn it into a garter that she can wear as she walks down the aisle. Or if you're just too impatient to wait for that long-awaited day, you can dress your little girl up in your wedding dress for a photoshoot!

6. Keep it. There's nothing wrong with keeping and preserving your dress as a token to remember your wedding day by. After all, some great moments happened while you were wearing that dress. Maybe you can break it out of its box every once in a while and play dress up too (you know you'll want to)!

So as you can see, your wedding gown can still have a lot of other uses besides your wedding day–it’ll be just be your call what to do with it! For tips on preserving your dress, you might want to check this out.
