Behind the Scenes of Wed Colorfully

We make it a point to write about the people who get involved in our editorials. This is because for those who liked what we did, it’s also good for you to know how each supplier brought in their skills and expertise to the whole look. So excuse us for this lengthy post! We want to give credit where credit is due!

We very well knew that the Wed Colorfully editorial was going to be a fun but tricky shoot. So we needed to make sure everyone was up for the challenge. When we saw the outcome, all I can say is that we were beyond pleased. We sure hope you were too! So let me take a few minutes to share about the wonderful people behind this shoot.

Toto Villaruel is one of the easiest photographers to work with. Aside from his brilliant treatment for photos, he also makes sure he listens to the people around him. He was keen in knowing what we wanted for the shoot and made sure he mixed it with his signature style of easy, unassuming, and timeless photography. Although admittedly, he said this shoot was a bit of a challenge for him, I think he performed it with flying colors. Assisting him was Nicolai Melicor who was not only a wonder woman behind the camera, but a complete hit with the little girls as well. Definitely a heaven-sent plus!

I only have one word for Gideon Hermosa, the set stylist/florist… “WOW”! Being pressed for time since we had a very little window to prepare for the whole thing, Gideon somehow transformed our venue into a Kate Spade Haven. Every detail was every bit charming as well as festive. I can’t even figure out which of the backdrops and sets I liked the most, because everything had its unique magic and whimsy. If you are looking for someone creative, he’s your guy. Oh, and special thanks to K. by Cunanan for sharing with us their table and cutlery, and Cilla & Co. for the fab ghost chairs.

Of course, we wouldn’t be able to achieve the polished and elegant side of the shoot if it weren’t for our gorgeous venue.  I am a big big big fan of European design, and R Space gives you that. With a beautiful interior and a great location (Makati), I super recommend it for intimate weddings or celebrations. You can dress it up in so many ways, or keep it as is because of its already chic decor. We can’t thank Rita Neri Event Planners enough for making sure we were taken care of! We had the best time shooting there. I’m putting a photo up just so you see what I’m talking about.

If you loved the videos of this shoot, we have Treehouse Story to thank for that! Their quirky and upbeat approach is such a breath of fresh air. We love seeing new styles of wedding videography and we’re glad we got to do it for Wed Colorfully.

On to the lovely details of this shoot. We’re definitely giving The Delightful Miss Joyce two thumbs up for the wonderful colorful cakes! (Yes, I am still dreaming of eating them!) And did you see the darling invitations by Anna Cristobal? We make sure that every editorial shows a creative way of doing your invites. The patterns, gold, and bold colors will surely be a hit with your guests.

And if you are wondering about the gorgeous ensembles in this shoot, let me break it down for you. From Vania Romoff, we have the drop-dead-gorgeous gold-striped gown, the blue-green ball skirt, and Alana’s lilac silk flower girl dress. Shirley Co made the white knee-length wedding dress with sleeves and the cutesy yellow cropped top. For the little girls, she dressed Alana in the orange top and pants suit, Teegan in the pink cropped top paired with the blue polka dot skirt, and Danda in the chic blue and white dress, and the pink orange and blue colored piece. Did you see that black and white polka dot dress worn by Fatima? It’s by Joe San Antonio. She also made the fuchsia and orange dresses of Teegan and Danda. To make sure everyone was extra pretty, we had Jennifer Tan-Chi of Bead Blessed as our jewelry designer. You’d be crazy not to love her stuff. For Hideo, Elizabeth Hallie Vy created a classic black tuxedo and Boy Kastner Santos provided the quirkier orange/rust suit. PHEW! Our models who were dolled up by our super nice makeup artist Gari Son were definitely looking so good as they jumped from one outfit to another! And of course we had the wonderful girls of Lifestyle by Feliz making sure all the outfits came together perfectly. They gave their 101% in making sure the energy and happy vibe was high during the whole time. We totally love em!
