How To Make A D.I.Y. Fabric Flower Garter by Candidly Pretty

We at B&B are loving the rising popularity of crafting and all things handmade. Remember our previous post where we announced that a hand-crafter will be guest-blogging to share tips? Well, that day is today! Get ready for this super fun and exciting project!

Hi lovelies! I’m Koni Esteban of Candidly Pretty, a creative blog that my husband and I started to share our love for anything and everything handmade. My heart is about to explode with excitement to be guest blogging here at Bride and Breakfast! I am an avid reader and it gives me so much joy to share with you what I love to do–crafting!

Today I will be teaching you how to make a fabric flower garter for your wedding day. Let’s get our hands busy, shall we?

Materials:

  • Strip of satin fabric (approximately 18 inches)
  • Elastic lace ribbon
  • Embellishment (you can either use old buttons, rhinestones or gems)
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun
  • Needle and thread
  • Felt cloth

Step 1: Sew a basic running stitch along the edge of the satin fabric strip.

Step 2: Pull the thread and bring both ends of the fabric strip together. This will create ruffles forming the flower. Secure by stitching a knot.

Step 3: Hot glue the rhinestone on the fabric flower.

Step 4: With a small piece of felt cloth, hot glue both ends of the elastic lace ribbon as such.

Step 5: Secure the fabric flower on the felt cloth and elastic lace ribbon using a glue gun.

Your finished product should look something like this!

There you have it–an easy and pretty project to bring out the crafty bride in you. Until the next tutorial! Ciao!
