The Charmer and the Chic

Weddings are fun, festive, and full of fantastic elements. However, getting there is not always easy. Most weddings take a lot of effort, crazy planning and even a few tears. I decided to have our gorgeous bride share bits and pieces of their experience in this journey to their big beautiful day. Take it from here, Nikki!

Somehow, it seemed that everything that could go wrong in planning a wedding happened to us! The initial make-up artist we booked went MIA a month before the big day. The videographer almost could not do our onsite. Our original priest who is a relative had an emergency operation three days prior and could not make it. And then, on the day itself, it rained so hard right before the ceremony that it felt like it was another Ondoy episode. The stress was incredibly draining! I don’t know how we managed to fix everything, but things just seemed to fall into place. A week before the wedding I just gave up and thought that whatever happens, happens!

I would think the wedding is more “me” than Raffa! Kidding aside, we were lucky that our aesthetics matched in general. We pushed through with our long-time plan of a black and white wedding that was very clean and modern, and more importantly, intimate. We were sure we wanted no bright colors because it really isn’t in our personality and preference. We were hesitant, though, to go with pure black and white since Raffa is half-Chinese, so we decided to include other “neutral” colors such as gray, silver, and green.

The charming groom Raffa and the chic bride Nikki! Cuteness to boot!

Also, we wanted a formal wedding without the stiffness, and we tried our very best to have the details reflect this, such as the entourage’s flowy jersey dresses, the simple flowers and bouquets, the small church, the straightforward invitation, the buffet, the easy music, the clean yet chic centerpieces… we basically just wanted everyone to be comfortable in celebrating with us!

Every little detail was part of the plan! We love each and every one of our suppliers! Every time the output of a supplier came out, I would just swoon and get excited all around! The invites were just gorgeous, the hair & make up and wedding dress were amazing, the coordination was spot on, the photos and videos were soooo worth it, and the food and styling was just breathtaking. We can’t choose! Each detail and each aspect of the wedding was perfection, and it helped pull the magic that was the wedding all together. Our suppliers definitely pulled out all the stops!

If I really had to choose my favorite part, our first dance was especially memorable since nobody expected Raffa to dance, more so to a fast song. Another meaningful experience was our little raffle to give away Adora gift certificates at the end of the program also allowed us to “give back” to our family and friends, since we were so grateful they could join us that day despite the crazy weather and traffic.

As Nikki said, whatever happens, happens! I would say for a statement like that, a pretty amazing wedding “happened”. Two thumbs up for the creative color palette, the chic and effortlessly comfortable vibe, and every bit of stylishly scrumptious detail goodness! I love Mondays.
